I caved. I’m finally selling off all the pedals and things I’m not using and there’s the buffer for adding it.ghettosynth wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 7:12 amCool that they fit into Eurorack, but I think that Moog stuff is all overpriced. I'm definitely looking forward to Superbooth thought. I don't really need anything, except more time and less work, but that doesn't mean that I won't buy anything. Ok, I do "need" a new poly, but it can wait a year or two at the moment if I'm honest, I'm not exploring that route at the moment.elxsound wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:09 pmvurt wrote: Thu May 04, 2023 1:02 pm im waiting till after superbooth before i think about whether the rack grows or not![]()

That’s a very good point.
I am struggling with picking up DFAM & Subharmonicon since they’re on sale. The only reason I haven’t is because I don’t know what Make Noise is going to release.
Before deciding on the MN trio of desktops, I was looking at picking up the Moog trio. I’m not interested in Mother 32, but I still want DFAM & Subharmonicon.
I definitely agree with Moog being overpriced, but this video pushed me over:

Well, I'll be fair here, I think that the Subharmonicon is the most interesting of the Moog Eurorack units. I would probably enjoy one as well and they are at least reasonably well made. I have not heard much coming out of DFAM that I like and I think that Mother32 isn't really innovative at all.elxsound wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 12:40 pmI caved. I'm not tempted enough by the sale though.

The used prices for subharmonicon are sub $500, so less than some Make Noise modules.ghettosynth wrote: Sat May 06, 2023 12:56 pmWell, I'll be fair here, I think that the Subharmonicon is the most interesting of the Moog Eurorack units. I’ve been intrigued by DFAM for a long time even if it seems to get more love from the techno crowd.
I really like the idea of using it with Subharmonicon’s “rhythmicon” dividers… but this of course can be sent out anywhere, not just DFAM.
I also plan on sampling DFAM into Digitakt and manipulating more, but I definitely get why some are not interested or why the b.Edge would be more appealing.
I have no interest in the Mother-32. Occasionally there’s a nag to be a completionist, but for features/sound, I don’t want it.

There’s a really good set of paid modules for VCV Rack that provides that Subharmonicon vibe for $15. Top quality emulation.

Sat down to mess around with the MS-101, added a DX-7 soft synth, lots of effects and some Moonkits drums. Seem to have made a Bond theme.

Got the new monitors setup, everything updated, and 3 tunes in motion with one mixed.

Rescued a track by throwing EXTREME REVERB at one section of the song, over the whole mix. It blended a meh-sounding arpeggio into a chord drone that I could layer other stuff over.

I believe vurt knows them well (unless you are talking about an actual person).
Made an instrumental with overdubbed Pro-1 and a Wavestate. I think it’s finished, but keep wanting to tinker so going to stick it on YT just to draw a line under it.
