I want to use Bluecat Connector to run two Cubase instances on different Pcs so I can share resources such as loading large sample libraries or VSTs on the slave machine.
While there are video explanantions on how to use the Bluecat product I cannot find an easy way to create the physical network using either a crossover ethernet cable or through a hub/router.
The Win 10 settings are not intuitive. If anyone can explain this I would greatly appreciate it.
I do not have an audio interface in the second computer, so need to use a LAN cable.
how to setup a network between 2 pc's running Win10 Pro and Cubase?

If you have a router, there is nothing to do apart from connecting both machines to the router (it will usually setup the IP addresses automatically via DHCP, that's easy).
If you want to connect them with a crossover cable, there is a bit more involved as you have to manually configure the connection. Here is a step by step tutorial that should help (you can skip the file transfer step):

And do not forget to disable WiFi if any!
