Instead of spending on various synths get Syntorial, which is an interactive tutorial that teaches you how to design sounds by ear training, and then you get a synth with the features you are interested in.

need a half decent camera first

shitty webcams are all i currently have, and an endoscope. no, im not doing internal shots, i nearly choked trying that
