I can't wait for the Frank Sinatra/Johnny Rotten synthesis. Sid Vicious/Paul Anka.

Like I said: I don't think this is how this AI tech works...zerocrossing wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 2:01 pm So, what if I could get Freddy Mercury to sing my song for me? Would that be any different than me finding a singer to work with?
I think range tends to be vastly overrated by the way... Michael Stipes has a little more than half the range of Roger Waters.

Soon we won't be able to trust voice or video as proof of real events.

Now imagine your voice by coincidence sounds like Tom Jones or Michael Jackson or... .whyterabbyt wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 10:52 amAbsolute bullshit.Leo1999 wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 4:50 am If the sound of a voice or singing technique was copyright protected it would be the end of freedom.
Will you have to wait for your next incarnation to get the permission to sing?
You can't copyright the sound of a Stratocaster, so copyright protection for the sound and technique of vocals shouldn't be copyright protected, either, of course.
A guitar, a piano, a synth etc is an instrument, a voice is an instrument, too and should be allowed to be used however it's possible - original voice or with added effects like pitch or autotune or AI.
Everything will be possible with AI and in the era of new technologies and innovation people will use whatever they will get,
first and foremost the young generation wants freedom, no more restrictions, stupid rules - art is only art without restrictions and rules.
You get emus of all kinds of famous synths from the past, don't you? In most cases they just are not allowed to use the exact same name like Roland Jupiter or... It already is and will be the same with vocals of all kinds of different persons, not just singers!
There are pitch effects that can make your voice sound like Mickey Mouse, did Mickey or Disney ever sue anyone?!
If yes, it would not be in accordance with freedom of art.

Here's a good intro guide. It's not an app. Either through a discord server or a Google collab.
