I was interested in Grainity from last year's Superbooth but I've kind of fallen off the hype train as more demos came out. Which is kind of a relief, one fewer choice I'll have to make.

Is it good for pop music? Is it giving anyone GAS? Can you chain two of them to make a bicarbonate?

Just picked up the Arturia Microfreak and cant wait for it to arrive!!! This is my first truly MPE capable synth or keyboard and I am ecstatic to try instruments like Plasmonic, Pigments, Imagine, Surge, etc. Thus far I have had good controllers with good keybeds, but they have all been channel AT so Ive had to pretend to have MPE, lol. Cant wait to put my hands on this thing!!

Now they need to make an additive synth called Sodium to go with the Bicarbonate and completely eliminate GAS. It could also be marketed as an antacid for people who hate TB-303s.

I used paypal payment in 3 so it,s working out 225 per month for 3 months. I was going to buy this originally but bought the Arturia Matrixbrute synth instead. Which i like a lot but it does not integrate well with what i got software wise. It does analogue stuff great but anything else becomes messy controller wise.
So my live setup will be S88, laptop, mikro maschine, and on a stand Matrixbrute and Ensoniq eps 16+ for some mad sample action. Sounds good to me. But the matrixbrute weighs a metric ton. And is mind blindingly complicated. But i am getting there. I think it is as close to getting a modular without all the crazy spaghetti of cables. Press a button on the matrix turn it up see what happens. You might get lucky
On another note the Behringer VCS3 if u could control the vcs3 matrix from the matrixbrute. They keep promising stuff the vcs3 would be one i would interested in. But when i think those 2 together would sound good. As long as the vcs 3 had midi control for the matrix.
See in a band it,s like oh you play guitar i play bass and i know a guy who plays drums all we need is a singer and were off. Why can't we have electronic equivalent. Why does it always have to be so bloody difficult. I hate swearing

the vcs3 is not out for a while i reckon.
not sure how the matrix could be midi controlled, its pegs in holes?

Truth be told, I'm probably not interested, but it's cool nonetheless, 52hp though.

Same way they do it in the Syntrix I imagine, but with an option to have physically pegged settings override any settings from the virtual matrix.vurt wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 8:46 pm the vcs3 is not out for a while i reckon.

Think I’ve just seen another module you’d like
ENDLESS PROCESSOR is a dual-channel infinite sound sustainer machine. Put your favorite instruments, unique timbres, or field recordings — virtually any sound — and make it last forever.
It is not a looper in the usual sense - Endless Processor resynthesizes your sounds to create a perfect clickless stream while preserving the timbral and tonal character of the original.

Its 'easy enough' to do in a new design where you just have the analogue switches and the button matrix, but I'd say really complex to integrate with a pin-matrix within an existing circuit (without affecting that circuit)WatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri May 12, 2023 10:23 amSame way they do it in the Syntrix I imagine, but with an option to have physically pegged settings override any settings from the virtual matrix.vurt wrote: Thu May 11, 2023 8:46 pm the vcs3 is not out for a while i reckon.

There's a reason all these retro clones only get basic MIDI note control. Integrating digital control into signal/control paths of the full legacy circuit without affecting how that circuit behaves... unlikely.
Even less likely in a budget retro-clone...
Also, pins arent all the same resistance, so this isnt and on/off thing, closer to a vast matrix mixer.
Certainly not cheaply possible.
An idiot on Set Theory:

Yeah, I missed the bit where it mentioned Behringer, thought this was related to the Buchla image in another post. Pretty sure Behringer would at most let you send note data and potentially one or two CCs to control knob values, but chances are just note data like with Model D, Neutron etc.

Just received the update on Gliss…
New expected ship date in July. Sounds like there’s more variables involved meeting that date, so now I won’t be surprised to see that date change too.
