Yeah, definitely cool, but definitely not on my radar. I'm betting north of $600. I'm not really a vintage "completionist." I wish that they had done the 259 instead.

Ridiculous that this is day 2 of 3 if you compare the synth announcements with what was launched at NAMM.

Are you safe?

Still no announcements from Sequential, not even a Trigon 6 module,... well, unless you consider the OB-X8 to be the big "Sequential" news.

Yeah, NAMM's glory days seem to be well behind us now.

Well, at least in terms of announcements which interest us.
I mean NAMM had 46,000 people in attendance this year. The organization that puts on Messe does a show in Shanghai that has had more than 100k and we don't hear anything about that show here in the west.

Trade shows are still mostly about manufacturers and vendors making relationships with parts suppliers, distributors and dealers, so most of the show isn't that interesting. I've always hated trying to line up product announcements with trade shows but it's become a bit of a ritual and for some companies, it's the only way they get any attention (though the attention is spread thin by so many other announcements).

Things like Superbooth, Knobcon and Synthplex have always struck me as something different, as they are more focused on the customers/users. Those shows are a lot more fun to attend, IMO.

Eh, I TL;DRd again. Don't mind me.

The biggest thing that bugs me about it is that while you need to use an external audio interface to get audio into the GR-1, you can't send audio out to that interface, you have to use the analog outs on the GR-1. I was hoping I could just use an AVIO-USB interface and handle all the routing in my Dante network. Hopefully the GR-Mega will let you use an external interface for input and output.
Check out Tempera.
