Beat Breaker seems like the only thing that would affect project compatibility. You could always import samples into Alchemy.

Judging from the videos, you can directly record into Sample Alchemy, which is not possible in the macOS version afaik.

I don’t subscribe to my guitars, keyboards and powertools i use daily. I subscribe to things i use intermittently.

Passive agressive? I was literal.

I subscribe to protools 2-3months/year when i need it. If i used it daily like logic i’d have bought a permanent license, like i did for logic.

We are 99.9% likely to get an update on or before may 23rd for the Mac logic. There’s too many new things in the iPad version and they are cross compatible.

What are the new things in Logic for iPad?

The browser has been revamped, search has been improved with predictive filtering, there is a new Shaperbox-ish like sampler called Beat Breaker, Sample Alchemy (version of Alchemy with sample import and touch input for granular mangling). That's what I could tell from the press release and news bits.

From the video it looks like Sample Alchemy is based on Samplr (Samplr.net) an iPad app made by a guy that now works for Apple...

Samplr is really cool. Having it inside Logic could be even better.

If I had to guess I would think it might be a separate plugin from Alchemy. Will be interesting to see how this pans out for Logic on the Mac.

If I did not invest on Live and a Push controller, I would be excited. Was a Logic user.
There are two options for Mac: either the updates for iLogic trickles down to Logic for free, or both go subscription.
I'm inclined to believe the latter.

I'm using Logic in my Mac but I use Cubase mainly in my Windows PC. So, I don't care if Logic goes subscription or not. I would still using the latest version then might switch if OS or technology changes.
I always have a substitute solution for any DAW or plugin (or person! I almost don't trust anyone/anything )

I bought Logic a couple of years ago. If it goes subscription, then I simply won't use it anymore.
I have it installed. The only difference from what is right now, is that it will be uninstalled and it would not bother me anymore.

Every plugin I buy would not have to be maintained on either one of my machines.... no biggie

I doubt that the current (or that last non subscribed) version will stop working. It might stop working in future OS versions or stop being supported.
Anyway, till really something happens with the Mac version, I wouldn't change any setup.

Indeed. I don't really believe Apple is going that route.
More possible is including it to any of the services they offer anyway
