on their site the news announcement says "sometime next month" which would mean this month some time.

For some reason I have mid-late May in my head but maybe that's wishful thinking?? Pretty sure May was mentioned anyway..

I just logged on here for the first time after probably 12~13 years only to post this:
The Soundtoys Super Plate seems to be on sale on Sweetwater right now:
https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail ... rb-plug-in
I'm actually very excited about this, as I've been using Soundtoys stuff for more than a decade on almost all our studio projects.
One of the most important things people forget when it comes to plugins is how transparent and neutral they sound. Yeah you heard it right, they do sound different even when the Mix knob is all the way to the left and off. Simply load one of your favourite effect plugins of yours, dial the mix knob all the way to off so all you hear is your direct clean signal. Then go ahead and play something (better to be a real instrument such as a guitar for example) in real time and turn the effect on and off multiple times.
You'd realise all of them more or less affect the direct signal when they're engaged in. However, Soundtoy stuff are among the very few plugins out there that leaves a very small footprint on your signal, and that's only one of the reasons I like their products.

it's not on soundtoys site yet though so this maybe sweetwater jumping the gun and listing the product info before it's released, which happens a lot. but usually when retailers do that it says something like "pre-order" in the add to cart area.Silenceborn wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 11:07 am I just logged on here for the first time after probably 12~13 years only to post this:

That's odd, Sweetwater is usually really careful about that stuff haha. Probably meant to put up a pre-order or someone screwed up big time over there. Or maybe its coming out at some point later this week?dayjob wrote: Mon May 15, 2023 12:58 pm it's not on soundtoys site yet though so this maybe sweetwater jumping the gun and listing the product info before it's released, which happens a lot. but usually when retailers do that it says something like "pre-order" in the add to cart area.

That's pretty wild -- it's still up at sweetwater. I wonder what happens when someone buys it from there...

That GUI borrows way too heavily from the oldest SoundToys plugins with the black knobs on a black background surrounded by a bunch of other low contrast black and gray elements. I was really hoping they'd have fully moved off that awful design aesthetic since so many of their more recent plugins actually used color and contrast well. This one looks like a big step backwards based off that Sweetwater screen print.
Do these guys just have blindingly bright monitors being used in very bright rooms where overly dark GUI's are less of an issue? I'm 42 and don't wear glasses, but I get really bothered by low-contrast GUI's. It's hard to do black-on-black GUI's well, and I wish fewer companies even tried.
Feature-wise, it looks pretty nice. You get a few plate types you can go between, some tone shaping controls, ducking. Probably closer to ValhallaPlate in terms of the balance between not having too many features (UVI Plate), while not being overly simplistic and limited (Arturia's Plate).

Ok I just logged on my Soundtoys account, and noticed that there is an upgrade offer and I obviously jumped on it:
"Get the new SuperPlate at a special intro price or as part of your Soundtoys 5.4 bundle upgrade. Save 40% and upgrade to the Soundtoys 5 bundle for only $29 thru June 14th. Check the Upgrade Offers tab for more info."
It's not even $59 for the v5.4 as said earlier. For the early birds it's even cheaper for only $29. Get on it while it lasts I guess lol

I am significantly older than you
Have been beta testing with them from the time they started doing vst (I think they initially only did Pro Tools stuff). I definitely want (and others on the beta team) resizable gui's but the contrast has never bothered me and I am not sure I have ever seen another beta member raise it.
Not saying you wrong, just it hasn't been an issue for me or the beta team as far as I know..
