Right? I get what they're trying to do, and I respect that they are focused on making replicas such that there are spare parts. But the keyboard choice just really locks in the fugly. I feel like the industry is in a weird space with respect to vintage synths. The SH101 is cool enough, but this idea that it held some magic that it must be replicated exactly is a type of fool's errand that I've never been all that interested in. I find the whole thing a bit weird. It's really been a key factor in how my own hardware purchases have gone.cryophonik wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 2:37 pmThey should’ve named it the DinSync HOMER-101ghettosynth wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 11:35 amI can't wait to strap that on and get on stage. Could it be uglier? I mean, I feel like if you added some fins or a turbo button on the side you could get that thing up to the next level.

They just stuck it in a temp case to demo the sounds IIRC.ghettosynth wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 11:35 amI can't wait to strap that on and get on stage. Could it be uglier? I mean, I feel like if you added some fins or a turbo button on the side you could get that thing up to the next level.

Well that makes sense, but why the strap? I mean, did they demo it in a a performance? Someone with some skills should photoshop it in for us.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 4:22 pmThey just stuck it in a temp case to demo the sounds IIRC.ghettosynth wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 11:35 amI can't wait to strap that on and get on stage. At least they made it blue. I can't praise Behringer enough for making synths in optional pretty colors, and the more garish the better imo and I hope this trend continues. I can now colour coordinate properly with my synths when I get dressed. I have this awesome purple batik shirt from Malaysia I got years ago, and it matches perfectly with my TD3. So yeah, that 101 is pretty fugly, but I have loads of shirts to match it.

True enough, gotta love that rhubarb and custard look. I need either an RD6 or a TD3 in rhubarb.kritikon wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 7:13 pm At least they made it blue. Barely any trousers at all. Mostly I wear shorts and strangely I don't have any red or burgundy ones. I have 15 different shades of pink though, does that count?vurt wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 7:31 pm do you own a pair of red or burgundy trousers? you seem the type.

An idiot on Set Theory:
