that's what i meant with "nicely sounding"
the LFO is so smooth, not stepping/aliasing at all
even at super high rates

Thanks!R-Bass was the one I was trying to remember. Cosmos is a lot like R-Bass, this is from the website:
Features:
INPUT: Shows the level of the input signal
OUTPUT: Shows the resulting output level of the plug-in
SUB-BASS TUNING: Dials in the frequency of the synth sub generator
SUB-BASS DRIVE: Boosts the drive amount of sub bass
BOTTOM DRIVE: Increases the drive of the bottom frequency shelf (less than ~600Hz)
EXCITER DRIVE: Increases the drive of the upper frequency shelf (above ~600Hz)
LIMITER SWITCH: Turns On/Off the built in limiter
LIMITER GAIN: Boosts the gain of the limiter without clipping the signal
STEREO IMAGING: Widens and enhances the stereo field of the signal
POWER: Bypasses the entire unit
So you can see, it does a little bit more. 've used it on Vocals and synths, but it's good on bass because it's a very clean limiter and good sub driver.

It's simple amplitude modulation. You'd want to use tremolo at high speed to recreate the sound of mondo mod. Other than having pan tremolo and vibrato in one convenient package, mondo mod doesn't have much going for it. I've had it for over a decade. It does some pretty specific effects quickly and easily but the range of modulations is on the low side. I have nothing against it but I would not have bought it if it wasn't in a bundle.Lbdunequest wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 2:55 pmMelda's Ringmod is nowhere close to Mondo Mod. I have tried to find alternative to it, but there is none. Mondo mod is unique when it comes to sound. It doesnt "mush" the sound at high rate.Ah_Dziz wrote: Sun May 14, 2023 4:53 pm All that functionality can be recreated with the Melda production stuff. I have both, but I don't usually use waves for modulation effects. Their stuff is fine but it's been outpaced over the years.
Fortunetly no other mod effects does amplitude modulation so well and clean sounding.Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 2:33 pmIt's simple amplitude modulation. Ok amplitude modulation might be, but mondo mod has a frequency modulation and i dare to show me any FM modulator that can do the sound in that way mondo mod does, ok?Ah_Dziz wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 3:02 pm There are tons of modular type setups and effects that will properly and cleanly modulate the amplitude of whatever signal you feed them at any depth you like. Use what works for you.
Actually Ah_Dziz didnt specified either, only later called MondoMod just being simple amplidute modulator, so yeah misunderstud happened.gaggle of hermits wrote: Wed May 17, 2023 5:20 pm i've found it helps to write "frequency modulation" rather than "amplitude modulation" if you mean the former. but as it was you who mentioned the apparent quality of the AM in the first place, you cannot be surprised that people talk about that.
funny...to me it aliases too much, so I completely stopped using it looong time agomuki wrote: Tue May 16, 2023 3:01 pmyes

I honestly dont recall ever having to do that. Its definitely the case that you can select to install by bundle or individually now, and that goes back many major versions.osiris wrote: Thu May 18, 2023 1:42 pm I just can't do Melda. I've used them and think they are high quality but the GUI just makes my eyes bleed and I don't like the you have to install al our plugins to get the ones you need/pay for. Or have things changed?
