Wogglebug is still one of my favorite modules ever. I want to build one in Frac or in 4U with banana jacks so I can use it with Serge and Buchla.

I tried Wogglebug twice and gave up on it both times. Not because it was too confusing (after the first few hours with a scope anyway!) but I just don't have that much need for random signals I guess, and Marbles fits the bill for me because of how it imposes control over the randomness.

Probably my favorite thing I did with it was messing with envelopes, but I just don't need to do that very much, and when I learned about running envelopes through resonant filters that kind of put the nail in the coffin.

I did kind of enjoy using it with Clep Diaz too, but then, everything is better with a little Clep Diaz.

Yeah. Even after kind of sorting it out, I got rid of Wogglebug very early into my journey, as I prefer a degree of 'control' or I think it's sometimes referred to as "structured" randomness, which are imposed as semi-predictable, if not known variables within "probability" frameworks/functions.

I have a far greater use for that and various logic modules, and clock dividers/multipliers, as it gives me something to play 'with' and off of... like 'point/counter-point', for lack of a better term. I like playing that moves in ebbs-and-flows, which evolve in a 'call-and-response' fashion.

I think there are probably much better options these days but the Wogglebug just clicks for me. I feel the same way about the Wiard Noise Ring. There are lots of other shift register based modulation sources but I always go back to the Noise Ring.

I have a µO_c with Hemispheres loaded, coming (hopefully soon) that I plan on using for a while first.

Unless there’s a stupid price on Wogglebug, this might be a later in the year purchase.

I like the burst, clock mode and ring modulation which when following the MN videos sounds different than other ring mod… I think in one of the videos Walker mentioned that part was digital, but the above videos mentions it being analog, unless that’s just the S&H… I honestly don’t know, but I swear walker mentioned it. I’ll have to find the video.

Eh, that video kind of gave the impression that he hasn't had enough time with the module to feel comfortable with it yet and is kind of flailing around. Doesn't surprise me though, Sonic State often seems to try to get videos out very quickly (like how they manage to post several SuperBooth videos while SuperBooth is actually happening... maybe it's a big team so the people doing interviews get to sleep and someone else is doing editing, though).

That’s what I took away too. I didn’t finish the video, but doesn’t look like they understand it well enough to present on spectraphon.
