That's also my experience... I was having huge problem with Rob Papen with my 4k Screen on Windows 11 and moving to MacOS 100% solved the issue. BUT it is a 3k screen not a 4k, so I am not exactly comparing like for like (but I have the strong feeling that it works well also in 4k because 3k is perfect).Bombadil wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 9:04 am No scaling issues in Logic, afaics. The 32” LG monitor is perfect for me, though I use it @ 1440. My eyes aren't great in my dotage, but everything on this monitor is fine.

For a bedroom setup, I worry about ergonomics and viewing distance with a larger than 32 inch screen. For recording/linear tracking a big screen across the room isnt too concerning but for editing I think it would feel distant and too removed from any immersive experience .... the opposite of tactile/hands-on

Many users have warned me to go big with 4k because of font size an/or scaling, but that seems at odds with Apple monitors, which are nearly industry standards for audio production. Is it possible these issues are PC issues exclusively?

Thx. I appreciate all comments, but many are conflicting, which makes choosing the right monitor confusing. Any idea what the optimum resolution is at this time for DAW/plugins?BertKoor wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 6:11 pm Please read the post by Amon1973 at the top of this page again. It's all accurate info.

You know what's conflicting? You wrote you ordered a bunch with a good return policy for comparison, but yet you keep on asking questions...

I did not order anything yet. I tried but delivery would have been before I actually move into new address. So, I am trying to narrow down choice, but may need to try all options.
Read through the responses. Do you see an overwhelming consensus or a wide range of recommendations? If the choice is clear, please tell me!!! If you are done with this thread I suggest you no longer subscribe instead of getting snippy on me for seeking clarification.

I remain confused but grateful to all for the great education about monitors. For years, my monitor was whatever came with my Mac. I am learning a lot and hope others are too.

Here is a MusicRadar article for computer monitors. I would just go with what your budget allows.

I think we (and I) confused you unnecessarily. I will try to clarify.tommyzai wrote: Wed May 24, 2023 7:16 pm I remain confused but grateful to all for the great education about monitors. For years, my monitor was whatever came with my Mac. I am learning a lot and hope others are too.
You won't have any scaling issues.
You are looking for much bigger screens that what I was talking about. I was talking about 4k for 14', that's a much much bigger dpi than 4k for 24' or 32'. Even my 3k/14' is much higher dpi.
So the short answer for you is: go ahead, it WILL work perfectly, I have tested it. Your dpi range is safe and proven.

I have learned so much from the contributors of this thread....mainly that there are many variables, combined with personal preference and ergonomics. On Tuesday, I will have all three options to compare. I can return or repurpose (if TV) the two not chosen. I will post my conclusion on here for anyone curious or interested. Thank You!!!!

This might help a bit, too. I haven't read it but Engadget usually does OK with their recommendations - https://www.engadget.com/how-to-buy-a-m ... 00069.html

Hi Tommy! I have a mini with a 32" LG 4k (32UD99, older model) and its perfect. It's arms length away and wall mounted. I only look at a part of the screen at any one time, but can keep other windows open on the side.
Has the same dpi as my old macbook, which makes legacy plugin GUIs big enough, and has IPS which I like.
Some people mount monitors at an angle between the desktop and wall, like a big laptop.
BTW, you get my 4444 post!
