Lyrics

Code: Select all

Verse 1:
I've got a pain in my big fat belly
Up down left right where's the jelly
I'm getting hungry
-
Why can't I stop
I'm too fat to walk
--
Eating more and more becoming as big as a pregnant boar

Chorus 1:
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory memory
Free from the tautology, oh gee oh me
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory memory
Free from the tautology, oh gee oh me oh gee oh me

Verse 2:
Covered in fur and always called sir
Obscures my grand overture -- No one knows my true form
Of course they know. I'm delusional.
But I'm happy to pretend. No one knows my true form

Chorus 2:
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory memory
Free from the tautology, oh gee oh me oh gee
Bones and ashes -- fire ashes and dust -- everything will combust
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory memory

Verse 3:
Why can't I be a ballerina dancing across the sea.
Instead of a fat furry pudge always looking for chocolate fudge.
Maybe in the next life I'll be a.
Maybe I'll be a coiling vine instead of putrid brine.

Chorus 3:
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory
Free from the tautology, oh gee oh me oh
Bones ashes and dust everything will combust
There's a way to be free -- dead -- like a memory

Outro:
free -- dead -- like a memory
free -- dead -- like a memory

I enjoyed the happy poppy sound while you are singing about putrid brine. Nice.

Genetic_Junk,
Thank you for the review! Now your first mix (the second mix isn't the same without the vocals): much of it is pretty bizarre. I think the chorus is the catchiest part: that part reminds me somewhat of Smashing Pumpkins (a compliment). Actually the verse sounds somewhat pumpkin-ish on second listen. I might have used a bit less less phaser (or similar) on the guitar, but otherwise the audio quality is quite good. Overall I think it is very good!

Your text is a bit apocalyptic, so it's not really suitable as an anthem
for the overweight. Well, there's the consolation for next life. :o

The song - structure, melody, implementation - I like it very much.
Very well done! :tu:

Initially, I wasn't sure what to make of this. Musically it's as you describe in the thread title (weird pop). I liked the change in intensity as the verses transition into the chorus. The lyrics are oddly macabre, and the line "No one knows my true form" carries more than a hint of menace, especially when contrasted with the cheerful, upbeat music.

Good work :)

Thanks for your comments! Yeah I can understand how less phaser would be preferred. It does make the individual strums less articulate, but I enjoy the strange pitch shifting effect it provides.

Just my cup of tea. Love it.
