I need your help with Bitwigs auto-arm functionality, which is driving me nuts.
My first Audio Track named INPUT has Effect VST Devices on it,
and is the Track Input Source for all my other Audio Tracks below.
This way, the Audio Tracks below all will record with the Effects baked into the signal.
BUT: for this to work, both INPUT and one of the Audio Tracks have to be armed at the same time!
Now the thing which is driving me nuts: As soon as i finish the first recording into one of the Audio Tracks, and i switch to another Audio Track, Bitwig deactivates the ARM Status of my INPUT Track, and only activates the ARM of the newly selected Audio Track.
I know that this is due to the “auto-arm” function in the preferences.
But i NEED auto-arm… Auto-Arm is absolutely essential for any live-performance workflow. Having to press an extra button all the time for simple recordings is a huge workflow killer. So how do i get my INPUT Track to stay armed, while also enjoying the functionality of Auto-Arm with my corresponding Audio-Recording-Tracks?
Alternatively, you could tell me please how to record VST-effects into my audio-tracks without the necessity of another extra Audio-track, which serves as audio-in-source and has to be armed... i only know "my" way from this tutorial here: https://www.morningdewmedia.com/how-to- ... ig-studio/
In case a picture is needed: Pic 1 is showing how everything should like like all the time: Both INPUT and one of the Audio Tracks are armed. Pic 2 is showing the sad reality: As soon as i switch to the next Audio Track, the INPUT Track gets dis-armed by.

THANK YOU!!
haha i knew, if there's a solution, it is really easy
Just a tiny addition was necessary which is turning off the monitoring of the AudioTracks, so i don't get double-monitoring-volume Everything is working as i wished for now, thanks!
Edit: woops, i realized, it seems to be the best way to let all the other Tracks with Monitor AUTO - and just put "no output" as Output of the INPUT

With a hybrid track it would be fairly easy to do with one track using the instrument post-fx chain. With an audio track I think (?) you need two tracks. At that point you might as well just use bounce rather than do internal recording.nowiamone wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 12:05 am

Thanks for the answer, if i understand correctly, the hybrid track method would imply that i have to copy&paste my whole gigantic VST effects chain onto each and every hybrid track. I guess that's not very CPU efficient in my case. I m sorry, i forget to tell in my initial post, that i m a live musician. I cannot use a Bounce workflow while live performingNomadMonad wrote: ↑Tue May 30, 2023 6:18 pmWith a hybrid track it would be fairly easy to do with one track using the instrument post-fx chain. But i m quite happy with the monitoring-ON method, so, this thing here is solved anyway
The other unsolved things i put into a new huge post
