Cubases old synths?

Maybe, but, not every synth inspires the user.
Really, even if you take the more recent ones, like Retrologue, when you compare it to a 16 year old plugin like Sylenth1, it's night and day. At least for me. And, I don't even consider Sylenth1 my favorite soft synth by any stretch. I think there are loads of soft synths which sound better now.
But, each to his like. I get when people want to limit themselves to the stuff which comes with the DAW. There's definitely the appeal of slimming down or restricting yourself. For me, it wouldn't be, because, none of the DAW's really come with instruments which are remotely comparable to good third party instruments IMO.

I always thought Reason had good VSTs. I really like Europa, but I think that's recent. Logic had (and probably still has) good stuff.
