Hi guys, this is an old problem that I have with waveform. Goes back to 7. This is the major reason that I don't use waveform. I just buy the new version, test it, and leave it.
So when I am working on a 3rd party plugin and it has the focus, I cannot press the space bar and listen to what I did. I have to click back to waveform to do that. My nanokontrol 2 play button still works though. Is there any chance to have global shortcuts?

Could you be bit more specific?
At least on Windows 10, the space bar works as expected with Vital, SurgeXT or Labs.
When Vital is focused, the cursor up and down keys are fetched from Vital to change its preset.
Which keyboard events are passed on to WF depends on the programming of the respective plug-in.

How else can I be more specific? When you turn the knobs in the Odin2, Spire, Hy-Poly and other plugins, all actions are focused on these plugins, the space in the daw, as the start/stop play function does not work. You have to hover over some area of the daw and click with the mouse to make it work. Win10. from ... to 12.5.3.

Yes, I can be more specific. For example, reason vst, battery, echoboy, are some vsts that have this focus problem. There are more for sure, but I haven't tested all my vsts. It's a shame because I love this daw, especially now with the video support, but I cannot use it professionally with problems like these.

Reaper has this neat feature, where you can make the shortcuts you want global. So, no matter what vst you use or where the focus is, you always have the shortcuts available.
