Confusion with MRatioMB

Hello!

I'm unsure of how the multiband functionality of some of the modules work on MRatioMB. Take, for example, the Noise/Tonal module. On the Easy screen, you have control over the Ratio of both Noise and Tonal, but on the Edit screen there is only one Ratio knob. My questions are...

1. What does this Ratio knob represent on the Edit screen?

2. Is there a way to have multiband control for both Noise and Tonal on the Edit screen? For example, using the Spectral crossover to control the Noise/Tonal ratio of a certain group of partials.

The Ratio knob on the edit screen also seems to have some odd behavior. For example, I'll drag it to a new value but after pressing play in my DAW, it will snap back to the old value.

On the Edit screen, you can click on the visualizer at the top to select the different bands. There's one Ratio knob per band.

You're probably need to use multiple crossovers/multiiband-controls for that. You could do it in MXXX.

That's because they are being controlled by the modulators. If you disable the modulators, you can set them manually. Open the Multi-Parameters panel on the Edit screen to see what each of them does.

Thank you Held!

Do you know what the Ratio knob is specifically doing? In Spectral mode, It seems to control the volume of the partials based on the loudness band that they fall into. But I thought all Melda MB plugins could do that? In Tonal/Transient mode, does it control the volume of the audio based on the Tonal/Transient band the signal falls into? I haven't seen specific info about this plugin explained anywhere.

MRatio simply controls the ratio between the main input and the side-chain. If you don't have any side-chain input, it simply controls the output volume.

With MRatioMB, you can, for example, use the main-input on one band and the side-chain on another. It doesn't do anything else, but you can get pretty creative with the modulators.

The Ratio knob has nothing to do with the band settings. I'd suggest you familiarize yourself with the single band MRatio and once you understand that, you'll have a better understanding of how it works in MRatioMB

Thank you for that explanation. It's a lot clearer to me now.
