Background AGC feature

Hi Vojtech,
is it possible to add a background AGC feature?
What I mean:
The plugin calculates the AGC the whole time without using the AGC button on any mode at that time. Cause there are many plugins, especially dynamic ones, which doesn't work that great with enabled AGC button.
But if the AGC is calculated the whole time in the background you need just to push the AGC once at any time and the AGC (Output Volume) will be set at that level. Voxengo does this and it saves you from waiting the AGC calculating time ("As most Voxengo plug-ins feature an output level meter with the “out/in”
indicator (input-to-output loudness difference), adding an EQ auto-gain
compensation (or auto-gain on any other stage) is unnecessary: it is enough to click
on the “out/in” indicator to match the output loudness to the input loudness"), like it works at the moment, which always stops me from working fast.
I think the set button in mcompare works in a similar way?!
Maybe you think about it, thanks
Marek

Shouldn't AGC run & update all the time anyways because it's highly input dependent? Even for plugins with "static" settings?
It runs on my machine! Everything else is undefined behavior.

I'm a bit confused - how exactly is this supposed to work if you are changing the settings??

But that just does NOT make any sense. The AGC calculates input loudness and output loudness and then performs an output gain to make them match. You want this to work all the time, but the plugin can NOT know if you didn't change anything, including levels in your DAW etc... so it cannot perform such a calculation if you don't give it time to measure the loudness...

It should measure it, just like it does it now, but without the additional five seconds when pressing the agc button, this give seconds happen in the background, so when you push agc it will set the level.

This idea is just a compressor, and believe me you don't want that. It will ruin all the processing for no reason.
Just tweak your settings, than click the AGC when finished, just listen with the bypass button on and off to understand what's happen. It's a very good workflow that work at the best

I think the idea is for the plugin to start the calculation immediately after a parameter changed. So if you click the Set AGC five seconds after the last parameter adjustment, it is set instantly.
If you press it three seconds after the last adjustment, it only takes two seconds instead of the full 5 until the new gain is set.
At least that's how I understand it. Maybe the Voxengo plugins have an even better solution.
