OMG no way! Great news!
D16 is probably my fav developper.
(to me the logical course of action would be to update the drummachines next, which i use a lot)
Promising!

Same place it is on the original SH-101.

I think it's quite underrated too. It appeals to me very much as someone who wants both a modern EDM synth and something with analog character. Beyond that though it's got 8 layers so it's excellent for building large layered patches and the effects are superb. That said I don't feel I've been able to make full use of it all because of it's heavy CPU usage in the past.
It really has been underrated. The versatility is pretty much unparalleled as well.

I wonder what the upgrade price will be? It's been around so long that I'm not sure that D16 wouldn't be justified just charging full price out of the gate to everyone.

If I remember correctly it came just a bit after Diva, or maybe a bit earlier, it did get a lot of attention when it was released because it also had ZDF, but Serum came after and many synths of that era got overshadowed by it.

It is. At least on my intel mac book pro.
Using vst3 in lush 2. I will ask d16 if i can show a screen shot of studio one pro performance meter on pc using a 4 layer factory patch comparing lush 101, lush 2 vst2 and vst 3.

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Wed Jun 07, 2023 11:06 am I'm personally hoping the drum machines are a fast follow. They sound and look quite dated IMO. My inexpensive Behringer RD-8 just kills the D16 808 from a sound perspective. A new sound engine and better sequencer would really improve the D16 machines IMO.
+1

The drum machines are sorely in need of a makeover. The tiny interfaces need modernising and although I like the sound there's room for improvement. We need more drum machines generally IMO, there are plenty of synths already.

nice news, the update i have most missed- Lush 101 was one of my favorite synths but haven't used it since years in new projects. Hope they make the midi mapping a bit easier and include the overwhelming presets from V1.
Next updates i am missing are Diva2, Zebra 3, Arp2600 V4 and Matrix V3. I know that Diva2 hasn't been started yet, but this my second favorite update after Lush 101, because lush needs more an update than Diva. There was a really nice roadmap for lush in 2014, which gets removed and no update folllowed since 2015 - so I can't wait to update this lovely Synth. If it makes an similar progress than phosyvon, than it will be the new all in one 101-workstation

There's a level of trust involved for people not to leak anything about an upcoming project. I've seen too many people leak things accidentally, albeit minor stuff, while casually talking in a forum about it. I'm not surprised at how few people get to be beta testers, TBH.

Ok.. I got the ok to share some stuff..
This is PC, Studio Pro One, one factory patch, I held down four notes on all three simultaneously.

For those unfaimiliar with the vst3 icons as used by sb and presonus at least, the first one is vst3. Seems the vst2 lush 2 and vst 2 lush 101 use about the same on my pc.
I alas can't test if this is true on my mac intel cause as we know lush 101 doesnt run at least on big sur which is what I have installed on there.

It can also like their last updated synth (Phoscyon), be resized, actually with even more optional sizes than Phoscyon 2.

Indeed Lush 101 did also have the multicore option.
Like many have said it has a really good sound and features, I was never much into the sh 101, but the layers on this etc made this way more useful for me in lush 101, except

1) it was a cpu hog.
2) the gui was relatively small so hard to read for me
3) it stopped working on mac at some point, well worked but crashed cubendo everytime.
So it never got much use.

Almost exactly my thoughts as well. In addition to the four other Vst's you noted for being prime for an update, I'd add one more (and it's one that I've heard almost no one talk about recently): GForce ImpOSCar2.

Cool! I've kind of neglected luSH101 for a while but I think this would be a good day to call it back up again and have a play.

Looking forward to version 2. :tu:

I think imposcar3 is already in the making, I hope it will get more love than the minonster and oddity updates. But the GUI itself would be mandatory with a better browser.
It’s to small and no fun to use right now. Imposcar2 was before Diva one of the best sounding analog emu. Hope they can tune up the engine for better sounding, something I really missed for minimonsta and oddity. Back in the day they where best in class, but right now, nothing special if you compare the moog to UAD and softube.
