I don't hate Apple. Apple is just a company, they do what they have to for their shareholders. It's the morons who are blindly loyal and have no f**king clue just how completely f**king stupid they are for doing it that I hate.
All of which are irrelevant. You don't choose your OS, you choose the applications you want/need to use and find the OS that best supports them. The OS basically chooses itself, it couldn't be simpler. If you choose your OS first, then you are potentially locking yourself into poor choices when it comes to the important tools, applications. e.g. If you are using Studio One on a Mac, you are putting up with several times more problems than those of us using S1 on Windows. It seems to have improved lately but still, why would you do that to yourself? It makes no sense, yet there are thousands of people who make that kind of poor decision every day.I don't give a shit about being on windows, macos or linux... they all have their weakness and strengths...
The big one for me was Catalina. Apple says you can't use your 32 bit applications or plugins any more and everyone just goes "OK, whatever you say, Apple". I'd have told 'em to shove up their collective arse.
I'm kind of locked in now because I've gotten too used to having a second screen, so I'm just buying the next gen version of my previous laptop, which was the next gen version of the one it replaced. It's an Asus Zenbook Duo. Just the base model, there are two or three higher tiers available but they are a lot more expensive and only incrementally better. If I was still doing a lot of freelance 3D work, I could justify it but it would be huge overkill for music production. Still, if someone else gets around to offering something similar, I'd be open to switching brands down the line but, right now, Asus is the only game in town for me.What computer did you buy finally?
