.. probably because there is no good reverb effect on the MPC, unfortunately.

The reverb in AIR OP-4x is also vastly superior to anything else in the MPC.

Just in case this wasn't a joke.

https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-x-se

https://www.akaipro.com/mpc-one

.. all of those are standalone music production units and Jura, the plugin discussed in this thread, works on those in standalone mode. It's basically a Linux computer married to a control surface, using a super old and crappy Rockchip RK3288 SOC. Quite a few of Air Music Technology plugins work in these as standalone plugins.

For anybody interested in the innards of an MPC Live (mk1).

I tried to demo it, but it's impossible since there is really loud white noise wave every minute or so. To often and too loud.

True! Maybe we will see this as a separate plugin.

We can always hope. The MPC Live will be my sole "DAW" this whole summer so I'm always hoping for a good reverb as it's part of inspiration for me (yeah, sounds weird but it is).

It's a bit weird Akai/AIR haven't made a simple convolution plugin for the MPC. There should be enough grunt in the machine to do that at least, as long as they limit the IR length to something reasonable like 8 seconds or so.

Gave it a try but didn't think it was anything special. Arturia's Jun-6 V sounds better to me. The white noise in the demo is obnoxious and doesn't need to repeat so often.

The synth has a few little issues. All the unison voices are in sync so the attack has that naff lasery sound which might be good for basses but sounds awful for most other things. The reverb mix and modulation depth controls don't have enough fine control at low values, skipping too quickly into high/extreme values which makes getting the right setting quite fiddly.

The reverb actually sounds nice, but settings over 50% width start to go deep into negative correlation and at maximum width the reverb disappears completely when listened to in mono.

Easy pass when the other Juno emulations feel better to use and sound better too.
