To be fair though, people change sequencers for all kinds of reasons, of which development rate may only be one. I own FL Studio as well as Tracktion. FL studio has all manner of things I desire that Tracktion lacks. I still primarily use Tracktion though because I can't be doing with Fruity's small dark interface. Marketing comes and goes though. What you lose with one hand you gain with the other. Your argument is built on the idea that sequencer inertia is really not all that strong, but the flip side is that a bigger and more flashily marketed Tracktion can just as easily steal market share from other players.All the common sense T1 represents does not protect it from marketing being targeted at the very people you are referring to.(Garage Band...etc)
And targeted marketing does its thing...people build up expectations...etc
FWIW:
Jules and Mackie have both stated T2 will happen. I have no reason to doubt their word. Some here are saying T2 is going to be a Live4 killers, whilst others aer saying it is going to suck. I personally have no way of knowing which if either of these stances is true. T1 mostly works fine for me, and I'm assuming T2 will also mostly work fine for me, only perhaps with a few nips and tucks to boot. I think the hype that sometimes erupts on this forum (and god knows I've been guilty of a bit) is dangerous because it can only lead to dissappointment, but the main question is not whether Tracktion2 will unseat Cubase, but whether you believe that Mackie are pointing the software in the right direction. I happen to largely feel that they are, and that Tracktion will continue to grow into the host I want.

I guess it's pointless to go over the points I've already gone over again.
It's not like anyone ever listens or absorbs anything someone else says in the virtual world (for the most part). It's in one eye and out the other.

Of course T2 is gonna happpen.
And i really think it's one of the best looking and most ergonomically clever apps around. period.
I'm just venting a little, and i think quite rightly...but not whingeing.
I'm much more of a supporter of it than anything else, but as I said, there comes a point in any process where getting into it that way is more constructive than staying totally passive and repressing all that impatience.

No, you didn't invent it; however, WHO exactly led you to believe it would be a spring release? Hmmm....
So even though -you- weren't fabricating anything, certainly at the time it was a user who was making a speculation that we all latched onto.

I seem to remember a lot of users hoping for a spring release, but, I distinctly remember Jules saying he had not written any code for T2 at that point so was completely impossible.
Pay attention to Jules, not the forum!
If he started coding in spring then depending on the complexity of what he's doing, plus beta testing, I'd say 9 months was a minimum.

I'm not a Tracktioneer, but I'm interested in it's development..
If it's any consolation, the Gothic styled Houses of Parliament on the banks of the River Thames here in sunny Britain was completed 27 years late... But at least it was finished and has served it purpose more than adequately.. however, I don't think it handled outboard MPs quite as was expected in the end, and they built Portcullis House next door to help out...

BTW, I'm sure you've all seen the current Mackie T2 page...and although I din't see anything with regards to T2's sync capabilities, I sure hope all forms of pessimism - my own icluded - will be swept aside by forthcoming events.
