HY Slicer 2 Rumors

A vsti is not an m4l device where the stored patterns (sequences) are automated in an automation track, one may wish to have the possibility of midi arrangement offered by all daws equipped with a midi track, the paterns should be mapped to the midi keyboard with retrigger options.
peace and love for all.

Thanks for the replies to my question @all.
I have never liked the approach of drawing my slices as notes in a piano roll. Lately I try to work more destructive and slicing some samples, rearranging and then render them as audio fits well to what I want to do. HY-Slicer looks interesting, because the way of working with it is fun and the GUI makes sense to me.
I would love a quick audio rendering option via drag and drop in HY-Slicer2. I still have not figured out some things like syncing samples to the host bpm, if that is even possible, but after playing a bit around with it I decided to buy it and invest some time to really master it.
I wish there were more tutorial videos on youtube that go into depth and show everything.

I could do that in Reaper with a bit of mucking around, probably Bitwig allows for it as well. But the plugin is obviously not naturally set up for that.Grodada wrote: Mon Jun 12, 2023 10:27 pm A vsti is not an m4l device where the stored patterns (sequences) are automated in an automation track, one may wish to have the possibility of midi arrangement offered by all daws equipped with a midi track, the paterns should be mapped to the midi keyboard with retrigger options.
Your claim that a vsti is not a device (M4l or otherwise) where the patterns are automated in an automation device is clearly not supported by the evidence -in this case HY-Slicer2 provides the evidence against your claim but there are probably other vsti's similarly placed

I never liked the approach of combining and fiddling around with automation curves pattern sequencing and sample cutouts. I have always understood the timeline of the daw whose vsti is an extension working with the midi tracks.
peace and love for all.

I contacted hy-support with some questions and got a response directly.
I suggested a timestretch option for samples, but there are no plans to add this at the moment, because the dev does not know how to do that.
But the next update will have a midi pattern trigger feature, so we can trigger patterns via midi notes.

i bought it and thought the paid for version would offer more presets seeing as the 5 presets that are there are listed as 'demo'
are there more presets available that i'm missing?

But might be a while, mind you--have patience.

IMO this is much better than Egoist.
I'll elaborate: Chop a sample up, you get 8 slots for samples, move the start and end points as you choose, arrange these slices over 5 lanes and add effects (included), and these effects sound GREAT!
