Hi folks,
I'm a Windows user, but one of the musicians I collaborate with is a Mac user. If he starts using the Mac version of Waveform, will we be able to exchange .tracktionedit files that we've worked on and load them into our respective Waveform software versions? Many thanks...

Simple answer is yes. I used tracktion archive feature for this type of thing> Caveat is any plugins used un the edit would need to be on target machine. Just render any tracks to audio first and that is not an issue.

operandx,
That's great then - thank you! What happens if I don't have the same plugins that my friend used on a track? Will the .tractionedit file not play at all on my system, or would it play, but just without the sound modification applied by his plugin? (I'm talking about audio recordings here; not midi tracks.)

Yes, the file would open and any audio files would be playable. And you could replace any missing effects with ones you have of course.

If you open a project without the correct plugins, Waveform will put a yellow warning symbol on the track(s) in question, notifying you the plug in won't work. If it's a sound-generating synth on a MIDI track, it won't play; hence, Operandx's advice to render the track first is a safe idea if you need that exact synth sound.
If it's an audio track or an audio effect on a MIDI track, the plugin will simply be bypassed. You should have little trouble in either case.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.
