Today, I opened an earlier save of my project and all the tracks are now empty! And they have been have been renamed as "Track 1", "Track 2", "Track 3" etc. Can anyone suggest what might have happened? Thank you.

There are some "quirky" optimizations going on under the covers. If you save a new edit, under some conditions the audio files are "shared" between the new and old project; so if you then delete the copy or edit you may be deleting some of the linked clips.
Another thing to watch out for - don't reorganize the folder structure outside of Waveform; at least on previous versions. Haven't experimented to see if v12 is any different.

Peter, That's interesting - thank you. One thing I have been doing, is occasionally saving my work to a different folder on a different drive. I don't remember deleting anything... but then, I likely don't remember everything I've done. Occasionally saving to a different drive seems like normal activity to me, but if it's likely to cause problems with this program, I will copy the default save folder to the other drive occasionally, instead.

Not sure if you're better off taking a BACKUP or an ARCHIVE of the projects...
(or what the differences actually are...). Maybe someone here who has successfully (or unsuccessfully) had experiences with backups?
Myself, I tend to throw all projects, standalone VST, and sound libraries into a folder, and periodically backup the whole thing intact to a USB hard drive. When I switch computers, I load the whole shebang back into a folder of the same name, and then just open projects from there... Although I don't have many large sound libraries other than the BBC Symphony orchestra.
