Procedure :

1) In Bitwig 4.4.10, do not assign any missing chains.

2) Load a drum kit (eg. 'Brush this' from Studio 2018) and play the first pattern on C.

3) Add a Ride Cymbal 1 to the pattern, at every other step.

4) In the Mixer, assign Ride Cymbal 1 to output 7

5) In the Mixer, assign the Snare to output 2

Result 1 : The Snare is not heard (OK : Snare is on output 2 which has no corresponding output channel in Bitwig)

Result 2 : The Ride Cymbal 1 is heard (NOT OK : Supposed to be on output 7 which has no corresponding output channel in Bitwig)

6) Solo the Bass Drum

Result : Only the Bass Drum is heard (OK : Bass Drum is in solo mode on output 1 which is the default output channel in Bitwig)

Ride Cymbal 1 leaks through MDrummer's output 1.

Haven't tested with other drum instruments.

Cheers.

Had a similar problem with the latest version of MDrummer:
Routed crashes/splashes to out 7 but they appear on out 1.
All other instrument routing working correct.

I'm on win10; 64 bit with latest version of Sudio One v5. Jamstix4 creates drum MIDI that are sent to MDrummer.

Is MDrummer legacy? Are MDrummer16out and MDrummer1out the right plugins to use?
If you plan on purchasing your first Universal Audio hardware, you can get a free additional plugin. Just send a PM.

As far as I'm concerned MDrummer16out is only there for convenience, having the outputs already defined. The same thing can be done with MDrummer, by doing the assignments manually. I used MDrummer16out for the bug report here because of the context. It eliminates any error on my part doing assignments.

The mysterious one is MDrummer1out. Are Mulder and Scully busy these days ?

In the Melda release notes for version 7 it says: "MDrummer plugin (with variable number of outputs) has been discontinued, and only MDrummer1out and MDrummer16out are supported now. If you need the removed version for sake of your existing projects, please keep the older version installed."

But they don't mention anything in the documentation. So confusing...

This is because the ride cymbals are actually part of the overheads & rooms! If you want it in the specific output, you can still go to drum editor and select "Mix OH and room". Otherwise it will work as normal acoustic drum mixer.

And no, nothing is discontinued. The message in the superold update merely states that there was an "MDrummer" plugin, which had variable number of outputs, selectable using and external app, which was quite clumsy, so now MDrummer has 16outs.

Solved by adjusting the corresponding volume parameters for the drum instrument :
