Tracktion Software

I'm using Tracktion 1.6.0.1 and Sampletank 2 Free Edition from the german Keyboards magazine on Mac OSX 10.3.7. If I include a sampletank filter into a track, tracktion crashes. (Where can I post the CrashReporter File?)

BTW: is there a free Soundfont2 player for OSX?

sampletank has problems with Tracktion on both mac and pc. Jules should be well aware of this by now.

IF you want to report the bug then send it to jules directly.

Hm, I haven't been aware of this and SampleTank seems to work okay on my Computer. But there have been two people reporting problems with SampleTank over at the German Tracktion forum recently, so schroedinger definitaly is not alone. I'll report this to Jules.

Make sure you are NOT in
"Use Realtime Priority Mode" at the Tracktion Setting tab.
After that it should work fine.

Since I am not in my "studio" I only have Built-in Audio -- is it a wave device related setting?

My configuration doesn't work. Maybe it's a problem of the free version from the german keyboards magazine.
Have to try out the normal free version ...

10.3.7 on eMac 1GHz

its the normal registerd version of tracktion - not the free one!

I'm using Sampletank 2 XL on a G4 iMac under OSX 10.2.8; no problems here

AFAIK there is no such setting for Mac.

I think we have to distinguish between the several SampleTank versions. I only have SampleTank Free and that one works without a hiccup with me. So far only SampleTank LE (especially the one from the KEYS magazine) seems to crash.
If that's true, then to me this looks like a SampleTank LE problem, not a Tracktion one.

so, the same ST2-free dont works really with Logic Platinum 4.8.1

Mine is the version from german Keyboards.

I now have tested the Sampletank free from IKM and this works. So maybe there was a problem with the free Keyboards version or the installed instruments.
But even if it's no tracktion problem, tracktion must not crash on this ... (but this is AFAIK a VST problem -- plugins that crash, crash the host application)

Yes, Keyboards not Keys. My mistake.
Anyway, since SampleTank Free works for you and SampleTank LE doesn't, it looks pretty clear to me. It could also be a problem with the Sounds that were included with the Keyboards CD - maybe some of that stuff is corrupted. As far as I know, you cannot load those samples into SampleTank Free, right?

I will try this at home.

- load the keyboards instruments into sampletank free
- load the keyboards sampletank free without instruments
