Loop Warping. Is it REALLY this PITA?!?!?!

Hi guys! Did anybody try to work with loop warping? I can't get my head around.
  • Do I really need to edit warp marks in that tiny window down below or in the dedicated floating window?
  • Neither of the two shows the actual playhead, actual grid.
  • Neither of the two even shows the actual loop length. Look at the screenshot. In the Edit window, loop ends at the bar 13, but the Warp edit window shows somewhere around 13|2 as a loop end.
  • The Loop edit window doesn't behave like any other editor window within the Waveform. I can't pan, zoom, move using the mouse. (Not that the other windows would follow ANY logic navigation wise.)
  • Is that true, the Loop Warp is another Waveform's unusable tool?
The more I dive into Waveform, the more I want really quit. It's so pity, because I love another aspects of Waveform so much. But these paradoxes drive me mad.

I stopped using it as version 12 came out. I agree that this is kind of crazy. At 11, it seemed to be more predictable and logical.

Yeah, I have found it to be powerful and effective but awkward to use. It's like it's barely connected to the DAW and always assumes that the start of the audio clip is at bar 1 beat 1. Also, that's the audio file start, not necessarily the left edge of the clip.

You can use a mouse wheel to zoom in and then there are scrollbars to move left and right.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

You know you can add warp time as a clip effect and work in the main page with all the normal zoom controls and the grid lines right there as normal?

No! I didn't know this! It looks promising, but it's another topic to investigate. :-D I have already managed the Warp described above to work. Now I have to start from the beginning, since although I can edit Warp markers, Waveform plays who knows what, regardless the markers. The Warp FX should be realtime, right? I can't find anything on the topic niter on the internet or in the manual.

Thank you, I know, I can zoom and use the scrollbars. But why? :-D We have two ways of controlling Waveform already (the main window and MIDI editor behave differently). And there is even the third way. Or rather to say, there isn't any of the two. The Warp window looks more like an external plugin early beta than a part of the Waveform. @dysjoint mentioned an interesting way, but I couldn't make it working yet.

Yes, I found it, thank you, but I struggle to make it working. I can create and move Warp points, but Waveform doesn't take it into account. It simply plays the track without my edits.

None of the Clip effects work. Is there any place to turn them on globally?

Strange. I had to turn the Proxy file on. Then it works. But not in the real realtime, but with some gaps for re-computing...
