Aloysius wrote: Thu Jun 22, 2023 11:23 pm What did I miss? If people are saying it sounds great but in my estimation nobody would buy a sample pack that sounds like these examples, then perhaps it doesn't really sound that great after all. Just my opinion.
People who like those kind of sounds never buy sample packs. They create sounds on their own…

Do you know all of the people? Probably not. Neither of us can speak for everyone else but I'm sure you got my simple point.

So simple, some even might argue that it was a 'simpleton' that made it? (....and who subsequently felt the need to reiterate that same opinion repeatedly)

Look, everyone has the right to their own opinions and if you don't personally like the way Synplant 2 sounds in these particular video 'teasers', fine! You expressed that and we all got that message.

But, you saw (and heard) how you can import whichever samples you want ... right?

So doesn't it follow, that if you don't personally like the samples that were used in this particular (and very brief) video demonstration, that you could perhaps use, oh I don't know, let's just say ... 'other samples' that you 'DO' like? ... Or would that logic be 'too simple?'

Either way, anyone has the freedom to 'take or leave it'. But, I'm quite sure, there will be no shortage of 'takers' for this 'innovative' (potentially great) synth once it is released and I for one, will be right at the front of that queue.

I don't know if English is your first language. If you'd like me to explain my very simple to understand posts again, please feel free to ask. Remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people.

Yes. I know everyone, and they would all like you to stop. Just. Stop. :tu:

I would like them to continue... As long as they don't break any rules I suppose.

Yeah but you did the same generalisation just a couple of posts ago.

Synplant is one of the most organic synths around, is not static like a sample. You don't even have to be into making sounds to make sounds with it. The approach of making the sounds is so fundamentally different from any traditional subtractive synth out there, and that's probably why it has a cult following.

I have never made any music with it ever. But I absolutely love playing around with it, in the same way one would have fun with a Tenori-On. For me, Synplant is more like an experience rather than a production tool. It's like taking the car and say let's go somewhere today without any plan or destination. Just go and see where we end up, rather than going from A to B.

So yeah, sure. A sample pack would never ever be able to capture that experience.

Synplant is amazing for just generating random stuff and then seeding something good to play over all keys. It's very experimental, but then lets you play it properly.

Wow! That resynthesis...the best I've heard. If my own selection of samples load thát nice in Synplant 2, it's a sure buy. Do you think that level of resynthesis will be obtained with lots of other samples? Or did they select the samples, which give good results for the demo at Sonic Charge?

{short answer} ... Yes. With very (v.e.r.y.) few exceptions thus far, I've been nothing but pleased, surprised, and frequently wow'd or amazed. This is a 'major' update. :tu:

What type of samples do you think works best? Longer or shorter, more tonal or noisy ones, percussive, rhythmic or pad-like?
