At 30 bucks, this is an absolute steal. No brainer if ever there was one.
Thanks, it's a really tempting price. Although I should figure out if I'm gonna use it or not.
It's an extremely potent, versatile and good-sounding tool. There's not much missing from it. (Albeit the lack of tape-emulations other than Cassette is a strange ommision.) It should be possible to mix almost exclusively with it. It's all there and - due to its simplified nature - easy and quick to use. It's probably the best - and not the least because of its nigh completeness - of its kind there is.
Thanks. As for the tape machines, I already have a few IK Multimedia Tape machines that I previously bought.

It's basically like Slate Digital's VMR, or a channel strip that you can build using different modules.

It's on sale for $29.99 at the moment, which is the lowest price I've ever seen it available for.

Input?
I am on their website and it says €124.99 incl. VA

Where do you see $29.99?

So do I - in fact I have every T-Racks plugin besides two of the Tascams and and the majority of the Amplitude stuff and yet I bought this in an instant at that price because I like the integration in a much more compact and simplified form-factor and I religiously use a T-Racks tape machine (almost always the 24) on almost every track...

(the included cassette-emulation is a fail (i.e. rather unuseable for the part of it) by the way as even with both wow&flutter set to zero there's still random ugly glitches - no idea what they were thinking)

Did you turn down the Tape Snaps?

Post

 I did not - my bad entirely - I certainly should have RTFM! :dog:

(Still a weird feature, but good thing it can be fully turned down/off)

Thanks for clearing that one up! :tu:

I'm still hoping for more modules especially from Amplitube (Fender and Fulltone collections come to mind). Maybe MixBox 2? But $30 is a great price for the current version.

I would definitely like to have the brand new Morley Oil Can Delay as module in MixBox.

Even if they add them, they'll be expansions, like they did with the Sunset Studio Reverbs. They haven't added anything to Mixbox in a while now, seems like a forgotten project.

Lurssen Mastering Console hasn’t even been updated for Apple Silicon. Now that’s a forgotten project.

Mixbox is a good product in my opinion as it does not induce most of the hot mess that comes with IKM installation. You just install one package and live happily ever after if you intend to do so.

As far as IKM is concerned in general: They have set up a marketing that favours the "new", "big" and "shiny" things they are dangling before your nose so GAS kicks in and they make a buck. Updates are not so much about product maintenance, but adding "new and shiny" stuff. If you want well maintained products, I think you should look somewhere else.

Damn, and Lurssen Mastering Console is quite old too, as far as I recall.

True that. Unlike T-RackS, that's installs the whole suite.

I like selected IK Products. The new iLoud monitors seem to be making quite a buzz. I haven't heard them personally ofc, but they seem to be quite hyped online. Even the new Tonex seems to be a hit product. I hope they can manage to revive some of their old products and provide some quality-of-life updates. For example, some T-RackS plugins like the CSR's have never been updated, I guess. Although, they did release a few new reverbs, which I bought (all of them), as they're quite good. Some older emulations can be much better, we know they're capable of it. The newer ones like Distressor are pretty good, and IK Tape Machines are some of the best emulations to exist, so it's not like they can't, more like they won't.

The TR5 Tape Machines NEED to be updated with an ECO mode, because they literally use 3x as much CPU as the native UAD Studer A800. Now that anyone can buy and use the Spark UAD Studer plugin, the IK Tape Machines are totally unacceptable in their current state.

Absolutely. They need a render mode and a studio (eco) mode. In my opinion, all plugins that support ovs should have this option.

Soooooooooooo, I just visited the IK Multimedia website to check out the modules in Mixbox, and they have a new group buy promo going on, and guess what? Mixbox is a qualifying product under the $99 category.

So if you guys bought Mixbox for $29.99, you automatically qualify for the group buy under the $99 category (if you haven't registered yet, or before they started the group buy promo).

Just wanted to let y'all know.
