Serum 2

I am joking man,it's not related to Serum at all, just time traveling topic is hilarious :)
Like it,if there is Serum II,which offer more than one filter will buy it for sure.
That's what stop me - i am filter lover, can't play with just one,it's too simple and sound is not enough colored.
Most of my presets are in sesrial mode, which mean double more character and presence in the mix.
Plus some internal dynamics i develop myself depending on interactions of modules connected in a chain.
Would say after year of playing different synths establish ,that good old serial filter mode/chain is the best ,if a man need really thick sound with a lot character.
Can't do that with one filter only.
So the moment i see two filters in serial mde and some innovation i am Serum user and designer for sure:)
Cheers :)

Exactly what is the mechanism by which two filters in series generate maximum "character" and "presence in the mix"?
Don't F**K with Mr. Zero.

Any new news about Serum 2? I think it will be very interesting to see what Serum 2 will bring!

I mean Serum is already very impressive VST synth even though it is quite old. But it is still very modern compared to some more new synths. Very hard to explain, but Serum does not feel "old", it is easy to use and it has some nice visuals but it is not over helming with every visual tricks. And it can bring so many different style sounds (I first thought it is more just edm dance sounds but after watching some tutorials it can bring many variety of sounds).

I'm waiting anxiously for Nerve 2. Hope it's not just a rumor of it happening.

I thought that was cancelled.

edit:

On the Nerve forum Steve apologises for even mentioning Nerve 2 and basically says don't hold your breath.

Well, I might as well disclose, but I spent a lot of money (a whole lot more than I earn from Nerve) contracting three programmers, for several years, the intent was to have them rebuild Nerve in to a Nerve 2.

They spent a ton of time on just the underpinnings (frameworks), and quit the day I hired a manager for them (as I was concerned on the lack of progress itself). The story gets worse but I'll leave it at that.

I guess the point is, good things take time, but I want to temper expectations because I too have been very disappointed here. But still, I am sorry if I ever mentioned a v2. I've learned now to not talk about future stuff.

I don't know where this long feature requests list is (?) but to make significant changes, a re-write is sorely needed. I use Nerve quite a bit myself, while it might not be the one Total Drum Solution™ I personally still find it very inspiring/useful and I still turn to it for quite a lot. And there is a whole lot I'd love to do. I had to abandon the work which was done by others, but I have spent a lot of the last year on a lot of relevant foundations, which will accelerate the progress, someday. But nothing is anywhere close to around the corner, which is a shame, but I'm only capable of so much bandwidth, and rest assured, I am working incredibly hard.
I can't lie to you about your chances, but... you have my sympathies.

That's sad. Thanks for passing on the message.

Serum is great, it is satisfying to use. It is super clean in the main. It is not good for warm, you can get there much faster using something else. Horses for courses. It has one of the best effects sections on any synth. I like it a lot.

I think for dance music genres it has probably been used so much it has probably influenced the sound of some that it has become go to. And that is great in many ways it shows its power but it also might restrict some of the tones we hear.

I love soft synths and get the same buzz using them as I did with hardware 25 years ago. I like to own many and mix them up for a rich sound.

Despite what many think I personally do not find everything DMG Audio make is a hit. A few of their products have fallen short of competition for myself personally. So always demo and don't believe the massive hype some specific people are well known for.

Listen with your own ears and trust them. Don't feel threatened by feeling left out because you are not hearing the magic that others (often mouthy beta testers) are.

Demo and trust yourself and no one else. Instabuy does not exist.

Steve's plugins haven't been updated for quite some time now (usually he's been pretty consistent) so I feel there's something on the horizon

But no brainer . . .
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.
