Is anyone even using MSF anymore?

I really had hoped this would have more sampled content to stack up against and hopefully rival Kontakt, Super disappointed in the lack of sampled, detailed instruments especially after several years, and the creations don't even rival a basic Kontakt instrument in quality. Let alone complexity

I use it daily as a super modular synthesizer. I spend most of my time in the edit mode. Tweakers paradise et al.

I think has lots of potential, they just need to spend some time into creating just one good synt inside this one, then hire a sound designer to create banks, expansion or whatever suited to various genre.
If you take a look at what's usually working with synths and rompler is exactly that. People love to have already good sound ready to use for modern production, this is the major lack of this plugin imo

I think it’s kindof stuck between being too daunting and complicated in edit mode and too simplistic and rather boring when using the pre-made instruments. Maybe some deeper built examples might help bridge that gap?

Try to get some of the popular sound designers on board. This is a market. People shopping for sounds made by renown sound designers will start seeing MSoundFactory this and MSoundFactory that. MSF will get exposure and high quality sound sets. Can be a good investment.
Matt Bowdler (The Unfinished), Stephan Baer (Sonic Underworld), Arksun, Bryan Lake (Sound Author), Joseph Hollo, Luftrum, BigTone, Bjulin, Jan Morgenstern and more.

That's planned now. We had a red light by the previous CEO last year, so everything stopped...
But now back on track, but honestly Underoath77 you expected we'd replace Kontakt in a year?? Seriously?? It may take a decade at best.

Glad to ear the direction is gonna change.
MSF is one of your plugins with most potential and your pianos are a good example. I think less is more, so i'd like to see a focus on good quality stuff, instead of lots of (forgive me) useless devices with no real usage for commercial music.
So real instruments like guitars (like NI with strums and soloed) violins, horns and such, along just one good capable synth where you can hire sound designer to craft sounds that are used in pop, edm, synthwave and whatever may appeal people.
ReFX is a good example here. They create lots of ready to use sounds, the only issue they have (for someone like me) is their crappy authorization systems. I want to be able to download and use my stuff instead to relying on internet, and you are great for that, i strongly respect your current system

I find this statement a little odd to be honest, you're comparing apples and oranges and getting annoyed that nobody gave you strawberries.Underoath77 wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 7:57 pm I really had hoped this would someday stack up against or replace Kontakt, never did. Using it in edit mode all the time. Love to dive deep. A rich and very detailed sound I don't get elsewhere.

Yeah, especially since Kontakt already does such a superb job with wave-table synthesis, FM, physical modelling and good old-fashioned virtual analog.MeldaProduction wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 11:47 am ... you expected we'd replace Kontakt in a year?? Seriously?? It may take a decade at best.

I thought you created the company, the design, everything. There's a CEO ? Maybe time flies too fast, maybe Image Line has bought Melda Production last year instead of earlier this year.MeldaProduction wrote: Mon Jul 03, 2023 11:47 am That's planned now. Ok that was poor phrasing, I thought it would be taken seriously in more YouTube content and publications, and be seen as an up and coming rival, not blaming anyone, just whenever I try to get people into Melda, they didn't know where to start regarding capabilities due to ambiguity in instructions

Putting in the advertisements that it will be "The last" instrument you will ever need was a tad misleading. Not an outright lie, I didn't realize that there was a directional shift of any kind, Vojtech cleared that up

I actually use Kontakt and MSoundFactory(LE) in exactly the same way. Just a collection of virtual instruments I can use. So from that standpoint it is definitely a fair comparison and I feel exactly the same way as the OP. I think I even posted a couple weeks back about this...
I was very happy to see the introduction of Meldway and Dream Machines and hope more like this will follow.
And with more great Melda Instruments (or Devices?) for MSF, hopefully the market for 3rd party products will grow

Since we're already talking about it. Would love to hear: what instruments can we expect?
Also: If the amount of instruments is going to increase even further, it might be cool, If the preset/ device system was improved a bit. Would be really cool if we were able to brose device presets by category. E.g. filter all presets from all devices with tags such as "bass" or "monophonic"... so we could skip through bass patches from a number of synths instead of picking a device first and then looking at the presets etc
