I have a semi live setup using the hy-sequencers and I use notes in the piano-roll as control messages only. The way it works is: As long as the trigger note is held down the sequencer plays. Then you have 12 notes to change the current snapshot from 1 to 12.
It would have been so nice to see names instead of notes and only have selected names show up. So much easier on the yes, less clutter.
Is C5 Snapshot 1 or was it F#6, it can get confusing.
Thanks again
Feature request, Naming Notes also

You can do this with the MIDI Note Names plugin.
Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Thanks that solved it
I must say that step clip is more intuitive and clean looking, more integrated, but that is just my opinion.

Glad that worked--it's a useful tool that came in with v12 (and about the only thing I've liked in v12!). If you use plugins with key switches (orchestral instruments, guitars, basses, etc.), it's a huge time-saver. The only trick to remember is to zoom in on the piano keys to the left of the roll, or you won't see them.
And for others discovering this tool--one other critical element: software and hardware manufacturers do NOT agree on what key is which. A C0 key for one may be C-1 or C1 for another, so don't be discouraged if your first attempts are an octave high or low in Waveform's MIDI editor. It's text editor-based, so it's easy to change.
