Is the Micro Drum Sampler plugin buggy?

Good day, all. I've experienced a lot of issues with the Micro Drum Sampler that came with TW12. For example, I select a drum kit, (808 or 909), and sometimes none of the samples are audible when clicked, in the plugin settings window. At other times, only a few of the samples make a sound when clicked. Anyway, I made a percussion midi track yesterday, and it was playing back ok. This morning, however, when I opened the project, the same midi track was silent when played back. I eventually discovered that to get the track to play back audibly, I needed to delete the plugin and then reload it onto the track's plugin bank/section. Is there any way to overcome these issues?

Hi!
This is a developer bug that they don't want to fix (although they may have fixed it in v. 12.5.11). There is a solution on the forum, look, but these are crutches.

I don't know if it's a bug in the software but the kit pieces are all set to ADSR mode (with no R) rather than One Shot. This is also true for the same kits (808 and 909) in the full Drum Sampler. TSC should definitely fix that. It sounds terrible.
In the meantime maybe you can make your own kits. It looks like samples added to pads will by default be One Shot. I found the 808 and 909 samples here:
C:\Users\{USERNAME}\AppData\Roaming\Tracktion\Waveform\Factory Presets\Micro Drum Sampler
If you're not on Windows, I have no idea where you might find them. (Please, people, include your OS when asking for help.)

I'm sorry, but I insist that this is a mistake. You call the drum sampler, use the preset, tweak it - everything works. You save the project. You close the project. You open the project and the drum sampler is silent. And you see, it needs to be adjusted again. This appeared, of course, after some kind of update and a very long time ago.pough wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 4:26 pm I don't know if it's a bug in the software but the kit pieces are all set to ADSR mode (with no R) rather than One Shot.

Thank you. I would like to do that. However, I haven't managed to figure out how to load alternative samples into the Micro Drum Sampler.pough wrote: Tue Jul 04, 2023 1:22 am Try using a kit that you 100% made yourself and see if it reloads properly.

drag and drop from the browser seems to work. but yeah, there doesn't seem to be a control for that anywhere that i can find...

I'll just stop you right there. If something is wrong with the preset, then tweaking it doesn't necessarily fix it. In my tests, creating a brand new preset from scratch results in a preset that loads fine.nowgad wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 4:59 pm I'm sorry, but I insist that this is a mistake. How do you feel about buying a car? You come, see, buy. You park it outside the house, and the next morning you can't open the car doors. You call the seller, and he tells you: you need to put your own locks. This is exaggerated, but the similarity can be traced

I'll just stop you right there. I feel fine. I try to help people get past issues that exist and persist. You just complain. Saying that there is a bug in software when the problem is in the presets is not helpful for anyone.
I would very much prefer that TSC fix this issue, but until they do I will try to help anyone who has this problem.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

It seems to me, or are you trying to substitute concepts and shift emphasis? Yes, I insist that this is a mistake. An error and an indicator of the level of attitude towards their users! You can kiss in... and beyond the developers, feel sorry for them, turn a blind eye to everything. And protect them from users like me. And for a few more years to describe to those who come to the forum how to fix the bug, misleading people that this is a pre-installation error, not software, and that it will be fixed soon, well, how soon, well, the developers know about it ...

I have the same issue and your solution helped me. Bug still exists in WF 12.5.11 Beta. As well as bugs with plugins UI. So I stay on 12.1.8.
