I've discovered over time (and considerable expense) that I am faster with mouse and screen for the majority of what Push is used for. That's why my Push ended up in the closet.sQeetz wrote: Fri Jun 30, 2023 11:43 pm That's it. I can't stand editing clips on the Push. It's cumbersome and slow and... I am interested in Push 3 as an MPE controller. But it is just too complex considering I wouldn't use most of it. I'd be more interested in a simplified Push 3 Lite controller.

It's not helping or harming anything if you decide it's not true, but Tarekith agreeing with me in that thread that it's looking a bit like v8 release is all I need. They weren't equipped to handle the extra support that the push 3 launch created, that's all.Double Tap wrote: Fri Jun 30, 2023 8:16 pmThanks - I just checked several threads there and I think you might be mistaken. I can only see one thread where an Ableton person says anything except "we have a lot of support requests" but they always have a lot of support requests and always take a long time to respond. One time I asked for help a couple of years ago it took them three weeks to reply.machinesworking wrote: Fri Jun 30, 2023 2:35 amThere are plenty of threads on the Ableton forums addressing this, with employees of Ableton chiming in to apologize for the delay. It's a backlog, they admit it, nothing is "in my head".simmo75 wrote: Thu Jun 29, 2023 7:37 pmMe too, I can't find any info on 'the amount of returns'. The MPE is a bonus, but what I wanted was an all in one solution, standalone isn't there yet. I'm probably buying the controller version though, still comes with a built in audio interface and ADAT, and of course the full version of Live, (and Bitwig eventually) will do everything missing for me in standalone. In my case the ADAT might be the tipping point since I currently use it to plug into an old Fireface 800 hooked up to my studio.sQeetz wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 4:51 pm I don't really care for MPE actually.... All I want/need is the jogwheel. And I can't justify a grand just for that.

I've seen your posts about hooking up a Fireface to the Push 3. I've never used ADAT, and really not used audio interfaces for anything other than headphones, but am going to get a few more pieces of external gear and am curious how people are going to use them, both with audio and CV. Good thread about it over on the elektronauts forum.machinesworking wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 5:03 pmThe MPE is a bonus, but what I wanted was an all in one solution, standalone isn't there yet. I’m curious about your take on the MPE pads. These will definitely suit my needs as I’m likely to use them most similarly to the that Ned Rush video (Kaoss pad like control on drum racks).pdxindy wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 4:12 pmI've discovered over time (and considerable expense) that I am faster with mouse and screen for the majority of what Push is used for. I’m going to give it a try this weekend, using it with my focusrite 18i20 interface.drez wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:18 pmI've seen your posts about hooking up a Fireface to the Push 3. The biggest thing I’m looking to take advantage of with ADAT is using it with modular. If Boredbrain releases their v2 of Optx, I’m likely picking it up. There were lots of complaints of noise on the current Optx version so it depends on the improvements and of course price. Expert Sleepers have competing products, so I’m hoping to see what becomes available. .

I currently hook up a babyface to the FF800 to use the four mic press in front and 8 in/out line inputs on the FF800 to the rest of my studio, I have four hardware synths, an MPC Live II, mics and guitars1 etc. permanently hooked up to Live and other DAWs I use.drez wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:18 pmI've seen your posts about hooking up a Fireface to the Push 3. So currently the Babyface is the hub, that takes no time to be a portable setup, I’ll likely sign up for the controller version of Push 3 and sell the Babyface and Push 2.
As far as CV apparently the Push 3 can use the pedal outputs for CV so in my case that’s where I would go for CV out.

instead of using Live Intro provided with Push 3 standalone, is it possible to login with Live Suite and use all the features?

Yes, that is exactly how it is designed to work and it is seamless.3lu5iv3 wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 7:19 am instead of using Live Intro provided with Push 3 standalone, is it possible to login with Live Suite and use all the features?

Since you have two RME interfaces I would like to ask, it is true you can use them at the same time in a computer and total mix will treat them as a single unit? kind of like aggregate devices on Mac.machinesworking wrote: Sun Jul 02, 2023 1:43 amI currently hook up a babyface to the FF800 to use the four mic press in front and 8 in/out line inputs on the FF800 to the rest of my studio, I have four hardware synths, an MPC Live II, mics and guitars1 etc. permanently hooked up to Live and other DAWs I use.drez wrote: Sat Jul 01, 2023 6:18 pmI've seen your posts about hooking up a Fireface to the Push 3. I’ve heard they can do that, but aim not sure? I keep the 800 hooked up to an old Mac Pro with firewire, and use adat to use it standalone as 8 in/outs.rod_zero wrote: Thu Jul 13, 2023 5:55 pmSince you have two RME interfaces I would like to ask, it is true you can use them at the same time in a computer and total mix will treat them as a single unit? kind of like aggregate devices on Mac.
Personally the reason for this is you don’t have to change anything when you use the laptop with just the Babyface.
