Composer Input Note Action Map has a button "Set MIDI Focus to Composer", activate Button "Set MIDI Focus to Composer" works, but was not inverted and not stored within MuLab project.
workaround for me was to set Channel 10 in "MIDI Input Channel Targets" to Target Module "-> Composer"
Scene Playback first playback start always also sequences of a preselected selected scene:
example: if scene 1 is preselected and you want first to start to play scene 3 with Note Action Key or mouse on play button on scene 3, some sequences of scene 1 will be played, but not all of selected scene 3.

The "Set MIDI Focus to Composer" button is just a quick way to set the project's focused module to the composer. About "focused module" see https://www.mutools.com/info/M9/docs/mu ... uting.htmlHermu wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 12:33 pm Composer Input Note Action Map has a button "Set MIDI Focus to Composer", activate Button "Set MIDI Focus to Composer" works, but was not inverted and not stored within MuLab project.

This button is just a quick 'momentary' trigger button and does not guarantee that focus stays on the composer if you perform other actions that could shift MIDI input focus.

There indeed seems to be a bug in that area.Hermu wrote: Fri Apr 01, 2022 12:33 pm Scene Playback first playback start always also sequences of a preselected selected scene:

Researching it in depth now and will work out a solution.
Thx for reporting this.

M9.2 i still have problem with Live matrix map. As shown in video it works from vertical piano action matrix map. I can assign key from external keyboard key note and midi channel, but i can only trigger on vertical piano , not from midi keyboard to launch clip or scene. Read about main composer midi in , but not found where to config ,or what kind of module to add in main or composer to be detected and config. I use external midi keyboards thru midi channel taget list (in project menu). Have tried to change channel to focus but did not work.

The Note Action Map is part of a Composer module and the NAM works on the main event input of that Composer. So you have to make sure that the events of your keyboard reach the event input of the Composer. You can check event streams using the Event Monitor.
I guess you already did but to be sure, pls also see this doc page:

Anybody else using external gear to trigger live matrix ?
Picture of my small live matrix exemple attached.
In Midi Input channel Targe i can set Ch1 Ch2 (rack) or Mr1 Mr2 (Midi chanel remapper) as midi destination (from external midi keyboard).
Midi remapper is needed because no midi is send out off racks .
Midimapper is only way to to check incomming midi data with midimonitor , and if you want resend mid to other external midi gear ( some kind of a midi thru).
Eventin connect to midimonitor dont show any thing.
I really dont know how to send the external midi to the live matrix.
Strangely when i select clip or scene and context menu "Map to note action" it ask me to enter note and this working , it displays note and midi channel from my external keyboard, and print it into "Composer Input note action map".
As explained in last thread , i can only trigger from action map and not from external midi keyboard. Its like a wire is missing somewhere.

For MuLab VST, you use the Project modular area VST MIDI input:
For MuLab standalone, you need to use the Project modular Event input instead:
If the Event Monitor isn't showing events then, you've for the hardware configuration wrong. If it is, then you'll need to check within the Composer.
As with any attempt to diagnose a problem, always start with the simplest configuration you can.

I'm using Mulab since 6.3 on pc. External midi key input never worked this way.
I have 4 external keyboard and other midi gears . Mulab is working like a midi merger, because midi device managent is not implemented in Mulab, like it is in Reaper or Ableton live.
You have to use "Midi Input channel Target " to set incommig midi channel data and "Automatic input midi focus off". Destination can be an instrument or a instrument rack.
This working since ages .
What is not working is the triggering of action map , clipp or scene.
Setting map is working because program ask keyboard key to put clip into action map (this is working).
I'm using mulab like " mainstage " in mac world to combine vst and hardware gear to play layer live.
For the test i only use 1 midi keyboard Nektar Panorama T6 who can change midi channel quickly.
Im using midi since 80th and all avaible PC programm since then.

Ok i try explain again.
Im on PC not mac
What is workin:
Have 3 external keyboards displayed in midi device of mulab
Each has his own midi channel 1,2,3
Midi monitor note (in menu is working) all note from external are displayed on each channel.
Made 3 track labeled ch1 ch2 ch3
Put th 3 rack into Midi input target channel 1colon target rack Ch1 Ch2 Ch3
Put instrument in each rack . Each instrument working fine from each external keyboard.
Put midi monitor(modul) into project modul aera .
Problems:
Connect midi monitor to rack1 output (Ch1) > no data
Add event input module and connect to midi monitor > No data
event input into Midi input target channel 1 > no data
midi monitor into Midi input target channel 1 > data ok
Problem:
If midi monitor on each channel 1,2,3 all channel merged to channel 1
This is why i use Midi channel mapper in project and put it before rack for each rack
and put Channel1= 1 Channel1= 2 Channel1= 2 for each rack his channel .
This allows me to send right midi data to external midi output.
It is not very logic , but it work since Mulab 7.
Problem:
For live matrix incoming midi data recieved from midi channel 1 to map key . All external midi channel are merged together to channel 1
External key not activating the set keys in live matrix. Only mouse working.
Maybe probleme is Mulab not able yet to work as slave (not implanted yet) , but just as master sync.

> Connect midi monitor to rack1 output (Ch1) > no data
Do all the modules in the rack that consume MIDI emit the MIDI data? If not, it's not going to come out the bottom of the rack. Try sending to a rack that's empty apart from MIDI Monitor in the first slot then move it down one slot. Does it still work (does for me)? If you put a synth in (consumes MIDI, emits Audio), does it still work (depends whether the synth outputs the MIDI data)?
> If midi monitor on each channel 1,2,3 all channel merged to channel 1
Go to Project->MIDI Input Channel Targets, click Options and choose "Set channels 1 -> 16"

Thanks for answer for the midi flow inside rack. And that all mulab buidlt in instrument dont have midi thru option like all my old external synthesizer. Midi daisy chain not really implanted in mulab as lot of new cheap external synths today who dont have midi thru.
This answer why my methode of using Midi remapper is working for routing midi data from input to to output to my external synths.
But this dont answer why i cant trigger live matrix from external event with empty rack.
