routing audio from a submix

I have two audio tracks that i've wrapped into a submix. The submix has a effects rack on the output. My question, How do I rout the output of the rack back into a new track . The new (blank) track doesn't have an option to accept the audio from the submix track.

Two ways.
One is to do it within the rack itself.
An easy and quick second way is to click on the input of the new track and select "route audio from..." and select the name of the submix track. I usually use the second method.

Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and even Deezer, whatever the hell Deezer is.

Thank you for your response. When I click on the new empty track and select "Route audio from.." I can choose any of the other tracks in the project but not the output from a sub mix.
I've now done what I what I needed to do by soloing the submix track, rendering an audio file, and then importing the file onto a new track for editing and slicing. There doesn't seem to be a way to route audio from a submix output live "on the fly".
Thanks again

Hi! Perhaps you should use the AUX Send and AUX Return tools. Select add plugin -> Waveform -> Utility -> AUX ... Put AUX Send at the end of the plug-in chain on the Submix bus and add AUX Return on any track (make sure that the group numbers match). I don't remember if these tools are available in the Free version.BernieBass wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 10:32 pm I have two audio tracks that i've wrapped into a submix. cool, I have also been racking my brain trying to figure this out. Aux send and return is the answer.
You have to put the send at the end of the plugin chain on the submix track. next have the return on an empty track, and use this track with the return as your input for recording on another track. Note that the sound will be doubled up and turning down the volume or muting the track with the aux return won't work, but I figured a workaround, I just send the output of the aux return track to outputs 3+4 which are dummy outputs on my system ( Linux ).

put AUX Send in front of the volume control... and turn down the volume completely. Thus, nothing will be doubled.
Rather, it is correct to say this: the main thing is that AUX Send should be before the bus volume control, and then you can simply turn off the volume on the Submix bus.

ahh even better ( especially if someone doesn't have dummy outputs ) , I never thought to do this at the send track.

Yes that's right. And with the help of automation and new Sends inside, you can adjust a lot with this method. The main thing is not to get confusedmikoatkvr wrote: Fri Jul 14, 2023 8:03 pm ahh even better ( especially if someone doesn't have dummy outputs ) , I never thought to do this at the send track.![]()

You can change the output of a submix to another track (track x.) Track x can output to your audio output and you can set the input of another track (y) to route audio from track x.
Or:
You can can insert an A/B switch on your submix track (which outputs to audio output), and choose the 'create multi out' option. Waveform will create the rack and add the second track (x) for you and wire the rack automatically. You can set track y input to route audio from track x and use the A/B switch to flip between options.
Or:
If you make your own submix by routing the outputs of the desired tracks to a bus track (x), you can set a track (y) to receive audio from the bus track, or any of the individual tracks that feed into the bus.
Personally I only ever work with the last option, routing my own 'submixes'. One of my favouritefeatures of Waveform is the routing versatility.

By the way, YES! A great and very fast way with AB switch to not take up Sends.
upd.
And so everything I described, I still didn't like it and I decided to double-check. And yes, there is an even simpler and more correct redirection (As described by Watchful and dysjoint). Sorry for pointing out the wrong solution. But, all these methods have a drawback: all redirects go to the track output. We have to create a third track to redirect to the input of the track and already record the sound there. Bulky design though)
