Is there such a thing as an inspiring reverb?

Had 15 mins to test reverb automation in Cubase, none of them caused clicks when adjusting reverb time under actual automation. I tested 6 from free to paid for expensive. Only the free Sanford and OrilRiver made some more unpleasant sounds with pre delay automation. Not clicks though they just did not sound as smooth when critical parameters were adjusted. i.e. the original drums played having parameters truncated and fed into the reverb making poor timing delayed sounds. No clicks though.
Also a quick and good way to realize how paid for reverbs are better than the free ones no question about that. Clarity stereo image and overall aural sense of quality/realism.
OrilRiver room size did create something close to zipper noise/clicks. Otherwise a non issue.
Maybe some DAW's are not as good as others in this regards ?

I don't think Soundtoys SuperPlate has been mentioned? You can adjust the decay time with no artifacts.
BUT, you do understand that you won't find any reverb with a glitch-free pre-delay, right? As soon as you change the length of a buffer (the delay line before the reverb), if a 'smoothing' algorithm hasn't been coded, you'll be changing the length of the delay line immediately and that will force the 'play head' to jump around which will produce artifacts. I don't think I've ever come across a reverb with no glitching or 'speed-up/down' artifacts in an automated pre-delay.

i'd read the book (actually i did) there's no way to show what's really going on internally (even with the inner monologues). if you're not into drukgs you probably won't a. like it, b. get it.chk071 wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 11:12 amYou might loathe it.
Shows what a diverse and great actor Johnny Depp is though.
Sorry for the offtopic, it was a huge inspiration when i was a teen. Neither movie really hit the spot although if you haven't read the book they are good.
PSP Pianoverb is a very inspiring reverb imo. Doesn't get much mention, maybe because it's kinda niche.

tbh, i thought the movie did fairly well, in both sticking to the book, and visualising the drug experience.
obviously, it's never going to be perfect, it's impossible to even put in to words, you just know if you've done it. (that reality is plasticine)

Cinematic Rooms Pro is the best reverb I’ve ever used, hardware or software. Sounds great on everything.martiu wrote: Wed Jul 12, 2023 7:08 amweird flex but i will take itliquidsonics wrote: Tue Jul 11, 2023 9:11 amIn the early days of Cinematic Rooms (possibly before I'd even finished it), Simon Franglen was composing for Avatar 2/3 and he said the reverb had played a role in inspiring a cue. That ended up as one of the testimonials on the site in fact. His compliment itself was very inspiring to me. He has been so helpful over the years, it's great to see so much kindness and generosity from such a talented and busy guy.MogwaiBoy wrote: Mon Jul 10, 2023 9:42 pm In terms of getting an inspiring room sound, Liquidsonics has it.![]()

Another vote for CRP. It’s very inspiring. If I could only have one reverb, CRP would be the one.zerocrossing wrote: Sun Jul 16, 2023 4:18 pmCinematic Rooms Pro is the best reverb I’ve ever used, hardware or software.
