Tyrell6 won't work with Kontakt 5?

I just installed the 32 bit version of T6, but I can't seem to find a .nki file

It's a VST plugin.

kontakt is a sample player
tyrell loads in your host, the same way kontakt does, not in kontakt itself.

install the program, then check your vst folder in your host, or rescan
it should appear on the list, to open as an vst instrument.

As far as I know, Kontakt stand alone is not a VST host... Tyrell is a VST plugin.

Kontakt is not a plugin host, and our products are plugins, not Kontakt libraries.
You have to find a DAW that can load VST2 or AU plugins in order to load Tyrell.

Maybe the original poster means Komplete Kontrol? That's the NI plugin that allows you to host other VST inside it and browse NKS presets. Not all VST plugins come with additional NKS presets which are a format NI created themselves in order to allow integration with their keyboards and Maschine controller etc.

I think NKI is a separate format for the Kontakt sampler. Tyrell is not a Kontakt format instrument, it is a VST plugin.

Yeah I think he is confusing Kontakt and Komplete Kontrol. Tyrell no 6 doesn’t officially support NKS (.nksf presets though not NKI) but there is an unofficial NKS conversion in the NKS User Library legacy folder (see my sig)
