WANT

I was tempted by the original Slö but told myself I wasn't going to get back into pedals. Now that it's stereo, has two more algorithms and sample rate reduction I'm not sure I can continue to resist.

I had Slö combined with Fathom, which I sold off, but this stereo version + new algorithms is going to be difficult to resistfoosnark wrote: Tue Jul 18, 2023 8:39 pm WANT

I got the expressive e osmose last week. I love this thing. The onboard presets are very interesting in that you can use "polyglide" from one key to another and some react to release pressure and velocity in addition to pressure/aftertouch/pitchbend.
I also have been using it with VSTs: mostly falcon and some of cherry audio stuff. I am thinking of getting the CA Octave cat just for the MPE compatibility.
I also went a little crazy with low end rack compressors, but that is for another time.

My Osmose arrived the same week as my Twisted elektrons Therapsid, I had a go of the Osmose and really like it however the SID sound is where my heart is therefore been constantly using therapsid and almost forgot about the Osmose.
I ordered an abstrakt instruments Avalon 2 years ago, god only knows if that will ever turn up.
Might not buy any new gear for a while, save up and as soon as Isla Instruments announce the Caladan pre-orders jump on that.
My bargain of the year was finding a "Analogue systems Spawn" on facebook marketplace for £150, Rackmount analog semi modular mono synth made in cornwall in 2002 only 51 units ever made.

After considering the Iridium for a while, I decided on an MPE controller + soft synth instead. I've been mostly a hardware person, so diving more into soft synths is new. I'm liking the K-Board Pro so far--enough familiarity compared to some of the fancier controllers but with almost all of the added MPE advantages. Now I just need to decide on whether to pair it with Falcon vs MSoundFactory...

A week ago I received my LinnStrument (200) flightcase from Swanflight. I finally got around to taking photos of it yesterday and made a thread detailing it on Poly Expression. Below are some high-quality photos of the flightcase and its features.

Finally took the plunge and bought a mixer. Bastard of a job finding anywhere in NZ that carries any stock of anything though (apart from really small ones) so it won't turn up until August some time
. Was a close call between Behringer and a 16ch Midas - didn't realise they sell budget mixers nowadays, but Behringer won out for sheer number of features. E.g. the Midas didn't even have aux returns, so you have to use the 2 stereo channels as returns and no direct outs - Behringer seem to be the only ones that have that at this price point and even inserts aren't that common. Quite looking forward to getting back into real mixing.

50 miles, I guess that’s local in internet terms. Less so if you’re an earthworm.PieBerger wrote: Fri Jul 21, 2023 1:03 pmAndertons is my local shop too, howdy neighbourWatchTheGuitar wrote: Fri Jul 21, 2023 12:22 pm Edge has arrived at Andertons, getting it here Tuesday![]()
