It's the king. The recently released Version 2 sounds even closer to the hardware.Lotuz2019 wrote: Sun Jul 16, 2023 12:24 pm Lexicon PSP 42?

And PSP 285 too. Sounds closest to my OTO BIM.Uncle E wrote: Tue Jul 18, 2023 2:34 amIt's the king. The recently released Version 2 sounds even closer to the hardware.Lotuz2019 wrote: Sun Jul 16, 2023 12:24 pm Lexicon PSP 42?

IMHO PSP digital delays sound much better than the other early digital delay emulations mentioned her. But they are expensive.

Pristine clean sound quality was one of the hallmarks of 2290, as far as it was possible with a lot of the circuitry still being analog. Long delay times, sampling and one of the first if not the first dynamic ducking feature on the market back in 1985. Especially guitarists loved that. And the ability to loop and control 5 external effects via it. TC 2290 really was a revolution as far as delays were concerned, firmly next to Eventide H3000 in legendary status. No surprise so many big names had both of them in their racks.dubguy99 wrote: Mon Jul 17, 2023 9:03 am Maybe it's the modelling, but I think also the hardware was already quite clean compared to those earlier 8/12 bit delays. It was a popular piece of hardware because it did delay+modulation+autopanning in one box, which was unique in those days, but today, patching that up in any DAW is trivial.
A noticeable difference to a lot of modern gear are the connections. Heck, you got a delay fx which has better MIDI connections than some current MIDI synths have, lol. And of course more inputs/outputs too, all together 16, for one stereo rack effect.
