Have just started using Tracktion and need to demo high quality reverb plug ins. I have downloaded a few and placed them in the VST folder on my mac but they keep ging to the ignored files in the plug in settings page. Or if they dont they still do not show up in a third party folder in the filter section. Can anybody suggest specific reverb plug ins that they are succesfully using in Tracktion. Also has anybody successfully used TC Electronics Power Core Compact. This bundle of plug ins would supply all my needs. I mainly record Classical music, choirs etc.Help appreciated.

I have yet to see a plug that does not work in Tracktion.
No TC here but I use the UAD-1 plugs, no problems.
If you play and monitor live thou you should pay attention to your latency.
UAD-1 tripples your sound card latency.
I heard powercore is even higher. (they recommend high buffer rate)
My system has 1.4ms so I'm OK here.
(took me a while and a lot of tricks to reach that latency)
I think the problems you are having is because some plugs only work in windows.

Hi Andrew. Many thanks for reply. I record everything dry and only use effects and reverb during mastering and mixdown if required so latency is not my biggest problem. I still can't find a plug in to work and it's driving me crazy. Does anybody know how to uninstall and reinstall tracktion? Maybe that might fix the problem.

Have tried Ambience several times keeps ending up in the ignored files after scanning. Must be bug in my Tracktion. Not sure how to uninstall and reinstall on my Mac. I'm relatively new to all this stuff. Do you know?AD80 wrote:Are you sure the plug-ins are VST's and not AU's? Tracktion doesnt support AU's yet.
Ambience is very high quality and its free and it runs on Mac. You should give that a shot.

Thanks to everyone who tried help. Have solved problem. I didn't know that OSX HAS two VST folders. One in the Home Library and one in the Root Library and this is the one that Tracktion scans. All my downloads were going to the Home Library VST folder and were not being scanned. Had a great time downloading reverb demos last night.Tried Ambience,Silverspike and Spin Audio's Room Verb. Room Verb won hands down. Very warm smooth and undigital and costs only $90. Great value. Will demo Altiverb and Waves to see how they compare. They should be better but maybe not $300 or $400 better. Cheers everyone.
