MDrummer $109 at PB this week. I don't know why, but I bought it. Anybody have any thoughts on it?

It’s really good as a random pattern generator based on a particular style. Because it can output MIDI I tend to use it to drive my hardware drum machines/samplers or if I’m after a more traditional acoustic drum sound send it’s MIDI to Superior Drummer.vstdls wrote: Sat Jul 22, 2023 10:35 pm MDrummer $109 at PB this week. I’m not overly keen on the drum sounds for ‘real’ kits in MDrummer itself, but the electronic and dance style kits are OK.

I would probably miss most sales if I wouldn t be subscribed to mailing lists.
I was glad about the Fabfilter sale as their update prices are very high even in the sale.

Does anyone know if the XV-5080 Roland cloud instrument goes on sale at Black Friday?

I haven't seen it but I have been a Roland Cloud user for only a few years.Aiynzahev wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 6:21 pm Does anyone know if the XV-5080 Roland cloud instrument goes on sale at Black Friday?
What they do tend to do is make a "Play4life" sale where you get a lifetime license for one instrument with a one-year subscription to Pro and two instruments for a one-year subscription for Ultimate (Zenology Pro not included).
Another way to get what is effectively a XV-5080 hardware unit is to buy one of the X-series keyboards. I bought a Jupiter-Xm to use as a module primarily. It has an included hardware editor that lets you set up XV-5080 patches in each of the 4 (multi-timbral) synth parts so you don't have to menu dive. It also functions as an audio interface so you can record all parts to individual tracks.

There’s a play4life deal on now (until August 8th). If you (Aiynzahev) only wanted the XV5080 you could pay $99 for a year’s pro subscription and get the XV5080 to keep.Gribs wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 10:49 pmI haven't seen it but I have been a Roland Cloud user for only a few years.Aiynzahev wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 6:21 pm Does anyone know if the XV-5080 Roland cloud instrument goes on sale at Black Friday?

It's $199 for Ultimate and keep 2 instruments, $99 for pro and get 1 perpetual license. https://www.roland.com/cloud/promos/play4lifeWatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 11:19 pmThere’s a play4life deal on now (until August 8th). 'Ultimate ... Keep two instruments for life.
Just $199 until August 8, 2023'
' Pro Play 4 Life membership for $99 and keep one chosen Legendary, SRX, or AIRA instrument forever'
Can you choose any of the Roland Cloud synths for a perpetual license in that play4life offer?

The XV (and JV) may not sound exactly like the original. The JD 800 definitely does not.Aiynzahev wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 6:21 pm Does anyone know if the XV-5080 Roland cloud instrument goes on sale at Black Friday?

You can choose pretty much any synth other than Zenology Pro and the GUIs for instruments based on it. You can choose a Legendary Series synth with ACB like Jupiter 8 or TR-08 or a model of a digital one like the JD-800 or XV-5080, an Aira synth like the System-8, or an SRX synth (not sure why you would unless that is all you have left to choose).blue monk wrote: Tue Jul 25, 2023 10:28 pmCan you choose any of the Roland Cloud synths for a perpetual license in that play4life offer?WatchTheGuitar wrote: Mon Jul 24, 2023 11:19 pmThere’s a play4life deal on now (until August 8th). That's one I wish they'd have on a regular sale of some sort.
