Bought myself a rather unusual BBD delay pedal (second-hand / no-longer-made Lunar Echo by DMB) in that its delay repeats can 'fall apart' into fragments more than most other delays that I have.
Also, various user reviews seem to point towards it creating 'washes of ambience' more easily than other delays, so I shall find out what that means when it arrives (hopefully) in a few days time!
An example of the 'break up' of the repeats is attemped by Ben Glasss, of reggae dub band Dubkasm, here (around 13:15)
Also, I'm eyeing up a matrix mixer of one kind or another to potentially assist with submixing / more auxes for my instruments and pedals etc. The Matrix Mixer by Erika Synths looks pretty decent.

Oh yes, the real bucket brigade delay is like a fine wine to the connoisseur.dark water wrote: Mon Jul 31, 2023 10:02 pm Bought myself a rather unusual BBD delay pedal (second-hand / no-longer-made Lunar Echo by DMB) in that its delay repeats can 'fall apart' into fragments more than most other delays that I have.

I don't know how many different kinds of memory units were used in these, but mine is really noisy on the longer setting. Used sparingly it is awesome though.

Just re-ordered a three-tier stand. The first one was apparently damaged and was sent back to Amazon by the USPS.

Synthfox has small batches of each of her modules up on Reverb today, if anyone is interested.

Great quality modules for great prices, IMO.

Sledgehammer is definitely a neat module. Not your average LPG. It's lots of fun for experiments with chaos/feedback.

Just won at auction (although it was only me!) an Allen & Heath MixWizard WZ4 14:4:2 mixer in "excellent condition" for £400.
It's 8-9 years old, but cost only one quarter of its original price, sold by an ebay seller with very decent feedback (and more importantly returns are actually accepted for once!).
As per the last sentence of my post on this page above, I had been eyeing up an Erika Synths Matrix Mixer (and there's a couple available in the UK for around £470 at the moment) as these look fascinating with their ease of routing options, and all reviews so far have praised their good build quality.
However, what I really wanted was a submixer unit (as a secondary attachment to my main Soundcraft MTK22) for dub productions etc in my studio - and so the ability to twist aux dials (of which the MixWizard has six aux per each of its 12 channels) will come in extremely handy.
Also, the Allen & Heath MixWizards have a pretty decent reputation (touch wood!) compared to some other similarly-featured mixers by other companies.

No music gear this month, finally retiring my Palit GTX 1080 GPU after six years sterling service in favour of an Asus RX 6750 XT that was on sale. To justify said expense I don’t think I’ll be making a lot of music for a while.

Got my shipping notice for Gliss! The estimate is tomorrow, but given that it's shipping from Mouser in Texas and hasn't been scanned by UPS yet, I am skeptical.

Not sure where I fall in line, but can’t wait
Edit: Just checked and mine still says estimated ship date on August 11th. No shipping notice, so hopefully it’s on the way soon .

Much excitement - another patchbay.

An idiot on Set Theory:
