hi,

I cannot start the plugin in reaper (on Linux). The whole DAW freezes so I am not able to access the plugin options and activate openGL.
Any ideas on how to start the plugin?

A similar behavior happens on Bitwig: there the DAW does not freeze, but BYOD keeps loading and nothing happens.

Tried in Reaper Linux last night native plugin took the whole system down.
Carla crashed also but not as hard as in Reaper.
Also tried the Win version thru LinVst and Wine crashes also.
Will test the Win version on a windows machine tonight.

Are you guys using the nightly builds? https://chowdsp.com/nightly.html#byod

v1.0.1 was released on March 15th, but there have been a boat load of changes since then, including a complete rewrite of the UI (the commit from May 7th) https://github.com/Chowdhury-DSP/BYOD/commits/main

I would either use the nightly builds or just wait for the next release, v1.0.1 has issues.

I have this on my hard drive, its pretty cool but the distortions are a bit tame.

I just stacked a bunch of pedals into a wall of white noise, wouldn't call that tame

What do you mean by tame? Aren't they mostly modelled guitar pedal plugins?
