I think MPS upgrade is the cheapest I have seen. A new MPS is on its way perhaps?

No upgrade from MPS3.1 though?

Thanks for the clarification! Upon further review, I must have glossed right over the part in your previous post that said your purchased plugins came from different users [sellers]. :dog: My apologies!
I think you quoted me while I was editing my comment. All good

IK Multimedia is as usual having sales neglecting people that should be able to upgrade at a better price than buying the full products. Makes me think twice about supporting them next time they come up with something. At least I'm not paying $99 to upgrade to Modo 2.

They are also advertising prices without VAT.

I saw this mentioned in nochat thread:

https://www.gear4music.com/us/en/search ... se=Synapse

I've never heard of them so I am being cautious.

It has a PayPal logo at the bottom (along with Apple Pay) but when you get to the checkout page you don't have an option to pay with PayPal or anything else, it just asks for CC details.

Anyone purchased something from them before?

Yep I've bought hardware from them in the past, they're legit

Yes, they are legit. Bought Cubase from them. Also tried to buy Omnisphere with a price error but they cancelled that so if it's an error it could be cancelled

Yup! I'm in the States, but I was looking for a new desk/workstation with a specific footprint. They had it and it wasn't too expensive so I ordered it. Got it from the UK in 3 days. Still sitting in the box in the living room waiting for new carpet in my music space.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

Gavincoolguy wrote: Thu Aug 03, 2023 8:29 pm I think it's comparable to Videogames in the sense that day one you pay full price in a month you see it around 50% off and in a year it's 90% off or free. If I was making money with music and used lots of presets I would be buying everything day 1 because if I use a preset I would want to be the one who owns that sound. I suspect that there is a whale aspect to the industry and that's really the bread and butter and then you just try to squeeze the retail side for whatever might be left.
It's a valid comparison that I've often thought about myself. Then there are certain games that rarely discount more than like 20% and don't do sales very often. Same with certain plugin developers that either never do sales or only small discounts a few times a year. The few I can think of tend to be smaller developers with excellent products, no overly-obnoxious copy protections or aggravating installer setups, and they make some of the best stuff on the market. I definitely respect these developers way more all around and feel much better purchasing from them than I do buying a 90% off plugin from a larger dev with ilok and all that crap. These plugin developers usually also allow license transfers, which is another huge plus that should be a universal given IMO. If I buy a piece of gear, it retains value because I can resell it. Plugins should retain their value in the same way, and also by not doing these ridiculous sale prices constantly even if I love getting stuff cheap. TBH, I'd rather just pay a fair price for an excellent plugin and not accumulate a bunch of discounted clutter.

I've also bought hardware from them. They've been going for years, see this government site showing they incorporated in 1995 and you can check their accounts showing turnover of £145 million in 2022 : https://find-and-update.company-informa ... y/03113256

I think they are fine, they've been going for years and have been featured here before. Just be aware that all the prices are quoted without vat/sales tax.

I purchased Dune 3 (3.5 really) from them yesterday from the US and it was indeed $71.xx with no tax. I too saw the PayPal logo, however, like you I was only offered CC. So I used my CC which has no international transaction fees so it was great. And I have wanted Dune for almost as long as I have wanted Diva (which I still don't have). I got my serial within the hour too, fwiw.

Yes, I purchased through them and it was my first time using them. I used PayPal in US, wasn’t charged tax, got my registration details within minutes and became a happy Dune 3.5 user shortly thereafter.

Man, I waited like a full year to buy Dune hoping for a good sale, finally gave in last month and now its on sale for almost half of the sale price I paid. Woof

Oh well, its worth it still
