Waveform 12.5.5 on Linux.

- In the MIDI editor pane, Ctrl+scroll wheel adjusts the height of the note tracks.
- In the track pane, Ctrl+scroll wheel adjusts the height of the tracks. Good.

- In the MIDI editor pane, Shift+scroll wheel adjusts the height of the tracks, same as Ctrl+scroll. Why? :?
- In the track pane, Shift+scroll wheel adjusts the length of the tracks. This seems to be right.

- In the MIDI editor pane, Alt+scroll wheel adjusts the length of the tracks.
- In the track pane, Alt+scroll wheel has no effect. :(

Looks like a bug to me.

Controls change depending on the context, so it might not be a bug and it's been around for a long time. It might have to do with what Alt, Shift and Ctrl do without the scroll in different parts of the screen. For example, Alt does multiple selection of clips on tracks but in the MIDI editor it gives you the hand to drag the view vertically. In the track view, Shift gives you the hand to drag horizontally.

Personally. I would prefer to have the consistency of Shift+scroll to zoom horizontally and Ctrl+scroll to zoom vertically in both the track view and the MIDI editor. Having to switch to Alt for probably the most common action I do in the MIDI editor still trips me up, years later.
Surely there must be consensus by now...

Yeah, agree. Midi editor trips me up too.
