Bain Capital owns GC and MF. I think the order is GC bought MF then Bain bought GC. I used to like to visit the GCs near my former house in Minnesota. Many of the people working there were professional musicians and DJs who made money gigging, including touring in back-up bands for some famous artists, but worked at GC for health insurance benefits. If they knew you were serious about asking for a deal, and I was, they would often give 15-to-18 percent off MAP or tell me not to buy now because an item was going on sale in X days (e.g. a Roland stage piano that I returned to buy later and my oldest son still uses). Then Bain bought GC and that was the end of that.

Venture capital is such bs, literally profit motive over all else. I understand why people sell to them if they're worried about not being able to pay their workforce next month, but these vultures suck. And I'm sure there's some exception, some 0.2% of VC that aren't just in it for screwing as much as they can out of customers and assets, but that's rare.

They really need to just turn it into an Access Virus emulation at this point.

August 8th is my least favorite day of the year. Even if 808s were my cup of tea, I'm covered. Everybody is covered. It's 2023.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

It’s only the ring mod and the cluster flux and IIRC the cluster flux was being given away for free recently.pekbro wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 6:46 pm Alright $9.99 for the moog effects, now were starting to get to a price i might actually pay for them. jrrshop btw.![]()
That said I’m a big fan of Alex Granduciel’s guitar sound with War on Drugs and he makes use of the hardware version of that ring mod a lot so that’s worth a punt for me.

Yea i remember that, i didnt get it. Tbh i've never even demo'd them. I may try the ring mod and the delay if that comes up cheap.WatchTheGuitar wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 7:19 pmIt’s only the ring mod and the cluster flux and IIRC the cluster flux was being given away for free recently.pekbro wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 6:46 pm Alright $9.99 for the moog effects, now were starting to get to a price i might actually pay for them. jrrshop btw.![]()

Clusterflux was indeed a free giveaway recently. MF-102S ring mod at 9.99 is worth a demo if that's in your wheelhouse. I found it to be quite capable. Reportedly not a close facsimile of the hardware, as per comparison vids on the tube.pekbro wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 8:06 pmYea i remember that, i didnt get it. Tbh i've never even demo'd them. Not surprised, honestly. The hardware is great and would probably take a healthy amount of DSP work. If someone made a TONEX capture of one and then you put it after the Moog plugins, that would probably get you closer.kidslow wrote: Tue Aug 08, 2023 11:32 pm Reportedly not a close facsimile of the hardware, as per comparison vids on the tube.

Steinberg is having a sale, but Cubase isn't included.. When can I expect that to happen? It would be great if I could afford to get Nuendo as it has so much included. The crossgrade price is $375.

Nor is HALion7 or the upgrade. That's what I've been waiting for.Examigan wrote: Wed Aug 09, 2023 10:01 am Steinberg is having a sale, but Cubase isn't included.. When can I expect that to happen? I can't remember if Steinberg does the two sales a year like NI, one set of products for one sale, the other set for the 2nd sale. Of course we are still a bit off the normal routine as Cubase 12 was late.
Anyone remember?

Does anyone know Rob Papen Predator-3 PL which is included in pro tool's inner circle can
be counted as one-fourth upgrade path to the discount offer of eXplorer bundle?
I mean if you have 1 to 4 rob papen products your upgrade price to eXplorer bundle
will be discounted gradually. Can Predator-3 PL be one of them?
I have 3 products so need one more to max discount
