Let us know how it goes.

It says the template is "premixed." WTF?
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

Templates available for Ableton, Bitwig, FL Studio, and Logic.

Looks like it has huge upside potential to save time in the studio if it works as described.

I picked it up and am starting to dig into it. I also got the Earthling masterclass. I'll share later how useful I found it.
Interesting catalogue of production classes with Earthling, Deadmouse5 and Sebastian Mullaert(Son Kite), that I know of, plus Jonas Saalbach (free).
About Psytrance sounds being useful for other styles... uhmn, just like synth sounds may be accommodated to many use cases, yes, but being a long time developed and diverse style, many of its sound sets may fall into a quite small a pigeon hole, so the question about their validity remains...

About "trance sounds can fit in any genres". I disagree, more so if by Trance one refers to "club trance" many substyles or to most of the PsyTrance being released after 2001, where encircled phases like the soon boring and limited - martian pistols - based productions abound. Stylistic boundaries, at least as defined by several of its strict substyles and observed at many line-ups curatory.

Psychedelic Trance at its best, imho, may and does feed from all kinds of music, rhythms and sounds so to surprise and help to open dancers' perception. The reverse, that a given Psychedelic Trance production is able to feed all kinds of music comes as simply not true.

"We are currently experiencing a high load due to the ongoing sale. We are in the process of deploying an additional file server, and we appreciate your patience during this time."

Not sure whether the sale is beiung extended. I had a number of other issues. Although I was unable to download the library so I had downloaded the installer and so tried to do an install, Windows told me twice that the program would not run on my machine (high spec Windows 11) then finally relented. Then I started getting odd messages from ilok.

I think I may pass this time around. Pity, I could do with a high quality convolution reverb for real spaces.
Good to know, I'll wait a while before downloading it.

Not eager to figure out what to do about the > 200 GB IR library. I just got a new computer and I was feeling pretty good about being able to store almost all of my sample-based instruments on it, even though I rarely (or never) use most of them (and probably won't for the foreseeable future)....

Only Earthling. The others are all external links.

Yeah, I listened to the demos for the Vital presets and just about all of them seemed to be "alien transmission", "rhythmic glitch", or "zippy lasers"... which I rarely use and already have enough of (and what I already have is already set to work well with the Seaboard). They also seem excessively thin and I don't like how they sit in the mix.

Yeah, 'genres' as mentioned should probably be qualified as mostly EDM genres for this discussion.
I'm not up to speed on all of them or how they all differ. I just know what I like and it's more downtempo psy, aka, psychill.
Even psytrance can a bit too high of a tempo for me nowadays. I'm more into Zeamoon / Seamoon (e.g. his Expression of the moment album), Grouch & Hedflux (e.g. lumination), Merkaba, pspiralife, etc.

As for the thinness of the samples I'd also noticed that they were slightly so, but keeping these as accent fillers at the top end allows you to keep the mix less muddy. That way you keep the mid and bass for your own synths and basslines as well as kick to really fill up the low end. But I agree, I like a fuller mix in the end, so I'd also balance these out on the low end with some EQ as necessary.

However, for my uses these are exactly the style I'm looking for. Glad to have finally found a good source. Wanted to share my excitement in finding them.

I just bought Inspirata pro.

Anyone know if I buy the "Roompack Extension - Download (INSPIRATA) download (90 GB) | 1 computer | annual license", does that mean I get to keep and use these additional (90gb of IR files) forever? No need to pay again next year to keep using them? (I know the base Pro version comes with 198Gb of IRs). So this adds another 90Gb I believe).

By "annual", does that mean new room updates free for the next year after purchase, or usage for only a year?

And are they continuing to add more spaces over the coming year and are they also continuing to update Inspirata? Hope so. This thing could be a trip in a 5.1 or 7.1 studio setup.

I sent them a support request but don't expect they'll respond before the sale is over. Might be worth grabbing the Roompack now too. There's just no info on it I can really find on their site.

Oh, and available here for even less at $90: https://www.jrrshop.com/inspired-acoust ... pirata-pro

Is a great reverb - really exceptional - but I wont be buying more room packs. I think the one you link to is just a year license. I assume it will be ilok cloud and blocked after a year. The out and out purchase is more expensive

Yeah, it really is. I've been over on the Vi forum reading the 40 page thread on it. Up to page 25 so far.
Back in 2020 it was pretty buggy. But seems they may have fixed most of the bugs now. Fingers crossed.

https://vi-control.net/community/thread ... cs.102712/

Listening to some of the songs users have made, to my ear it sounds very realistic. Like it's more than a reverb plugin and more of a reverb 'environment' I guess you could say. It doesn't sound like reverb is added on top of a song as much as the instruments all sound like they're in an actual concert hall or room. Finally someone has done it. I need to listen to more demos and try it out to be sure. But so far it sounds very promising. Very pleasing to the ear.

I'm about to download it and test it out on my PC next.

They did answer back already on the additional rooms pack. They said, "This specific product is licensed on an annual basis, meaning you must pay a yearly fee to continue using the rooms included in it. We are consistently adding new rooms to this collection."

I don't rent plugins, sounds or IRs. So a hard no on that one.

But I think the basic Pro version probably comes with more than enough.

It's an excellent reverb.

You can have multiple sources in the same space so you could recreate the positioning of various instruments on a stage, for example.

You can then move the listener around the space.

One thing that's interesting is that the Reverb is divided into three different sections: Direct, Early reflections and Reverb.

The Direct is not the same as Dry but is the direct signal from the source to the listener before the early reflection and reverb tail.

So a reverb environment or space simulator is a more accurate description.

The 50 spaces you get with the pro version cover a lot of ground and each space has a huge amount of variety due to the positioning. It can be further tweaked with extended controls.

It's really excellent. The only downsides are the file size at an eye-watering 200 gigabytes and it can get pretty resource intensive if you're feeding a lot of sources.

Post

I agree. They have the ability to become one of the top reverb solutions on the market if they can get past their issues.

I'm still downloading all the rooms. On day three still even with a good download manager (IDM). Each download segment is going at about 25k per second. They are not taking the distribution seriously enough even after several years.

I suspect other companies will soon see that us customers really like the sound of their reverb and come up with a more professional plugin offering without all the download issues and remaining bugs. Although the bugs are much less now from what I'm reading. They just need to optimize CPU and memory usage mostly now. And perhaps allow all instances a shared central management window.

The question of how sources and routing work in the pro version are still a topic of debate and limitation it seems as well depending on DAW used. So that is the other area they need to make smoother for many users it still seems.

But overall it's a bargain at $90 for the SQ and number of rooms (50) you get.

if you've got a few hundred gigabytes to spare :P

I do. :)
Just bought a brand new 4tb nvme. They're only $160 now for the newer generation 4 ones with 1.5 million hours MTBF. 1800 TBW. Amazing value. Throw a few in your rig and never worry about sample space again. It's awesome.

tbf, the composer types it’s geared towards are used to needing massive hard drive space.
