Pass on them. Lots of great stuff out there from other devs.
They already tried to change their licensing to force subs. Who knows how long before they return to that idea.

Lol Of course
That's why so little people use RComp or RBass or Vitamin or H-Delay or MaxxBass or the awesome convolution reverbs or MetaFlanger (superb!) or C4 comp or MV2 or VComp (what a great emu!) or... or...
There are maybe 8 out of 60 plugins I have never used yet and for quite a lot of plugins you won't find something similar.
MV2 is a secret weapon on bass, RBass, too, RVox is magic on vocals, there's no other flanger similar to Metaflanger etc.
But if you used 2 plugins only, still a very good price, only 37,50 per plugin!

They are all different, just like people often use different limiters for different reasons.elassi wrote: Thu Aug 17, 2023 8:53 pm Those four Maximizers are included in the bundle:
L1 Ultramaximizer
L2 Ultramaximizer
L3 Ultramaximizer
L3-LL Ultramaximizer
I couldn't decide which one to use. Maybe I make a fatal decision, completely wrong and thus destroying my precious track? Should I've used L3 instead of L1? Or even L3-LL?![]()

Know what? I'll ignore this super-duper bundle.![]()
Especially L2 has a special character and colour and I would even dare say L1 is a must-have, I used it so many times (not on master bus!)

Who uses them? What albums were they used to mix?DCrown wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:14 am That's why so little people use RComp or RBass or Vitamin or H-Delay or MaxxBass or the awesome convolution reverbs or MetaFlanger (superb!) or C4 comp or MV2 or VComp (what a great emu!) or... or...

Just watch some YouTube videos and you will find Waves many times and I am not refering to Warren onlyUncle E wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:23 amWho uses them? It's no secret what unique things you can do for example with MV2 very quickly no other plugin does
Didn't expect such a stupid comment from JRR shop, I know where I won't buy any more Lol
But Waves haters are not something new, it's obviously jealousy or envy, that Waves made one of the best plugins ever and plugins don't get bad after some years, I can't find any signs of usage on my Waves plugins. Of course also new devs have entered the scene omg!
I think Waves wouldn't exist the way it exists for many years with a bug presence, if maby people didn't buy and use their plugins.

L1 is the one that I know a lot of big engineers used. They used it to catch peaks on vocals before hitting their main compressors. A lot of people used the Renaissance stuff, too, but that was back when albums were being mixed OTB.DCrown wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:25 am Just watch some YouTube videos and you will find Waves many times and I am not refering to Warren only

Haha I see, L1 only and Renaissance stuff ONLY back in the day, well, ok, I think, you must be right.
No one ever used RBass and there are so many similar alternatives (lol), no ine MaxBass or RVox or H-Delay or...or...
Waves plugins must be real crap, better don't buy 60 useless plugins for 75 USD at plugindiscounts, there are so many better offers by other devs that give you many different plugins in a bundle for mudic production.
I suppose when you talk about music production you refer to the charts and Spotify is the reference today.
Well, what you will find in the top 50 might be produced without Waves, 99% sounds like crap, you can hear that many knobs and sliders have been moved on plugins, Waves plugins often are limited to one, two, three sliders or knobs only, that's not for Spotify Charts!

Anyway, as you said before, even if you only use 2 or 3 of the plugins, you're winning. ToneCentric, H-Comp, H-Delay, MV2, and Vitamin are all excellent and it's well worth the price just to get those.

Head over to Sound On Sound's website, and search for one of those plugins, you'll probably find a few mentions of it in their 'Inside Track' series. So, from a couple on that list you'll find recent usage on SZA and Paulo Nutini albums, for example.Uncle E wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:23 amWhat albums were they used to mix?DCrown wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:14 am That's why so little people use RComp or RBass or Vitamin or H-Delay or MaxxBass or the awesome convolution reverbs or MetaFlanger (superb!) or C4 comp or MV2 or VComp (what a great emu!) or... or...

Yeah, they're still routinely used everywhere on records, I guess mostly cos they are old, familiar and work perfectly well. They may not be industry-standard in the way that they once were, but people gravitate to what they know because they work fast with them, which is fine. Also some of their new plugs are very good.
The idea that Waves is redundant now is a purely internet forum thing, really - with the caveat that if you're starting from scratch there aren't all that many that are genuinely unique and there may be better alternatives depending on the deal.

https://www.waves.com/support/waves-update-plan
...if you want a second license, Waves themselves are saying you need a WUP.Waves Update Plan Benefits:
FREE 2ND LICENSE OPTION 1
Get second licenses for your covered plugins and bundles, for use on different devices
More information confirming that here:
https://www.waves.com/support/using-wav ... -computers
...so yes, if you have 2 computers your options are: 1) make sure you're covered under a WUP at all times (basically becoming a subscription), or 2) transfer back and forth between the 2 PC's (inconvenient), or 3) buy 2 licenses one for each PC (doubling upfront costs).Waves offers a free 2nd license for any plugin or bundle covered by the Waves Update Plan, to be used on different computers, without having to move licenses between devices.
Even if you don’t have a 2nd license for a product, you can move any Waves license back and forth between different computers as often as you like. (Just make sure that your different computers are compatible) This can be done with any Waves licenses – no matter whether it’s your main license or your 2nd license for that product.

Yup, I went for (3) which is far cheaper than (1). And you can do it in stages starting with a subset on a very cheap deal, then getting the cheap upgrade deals as and when.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 2:55 pm...so yes, if you have 2 computers your options are: 1) make sure you're covered under a WUP at all times (basically becoming a subscription), or 2) transfer back and forth between the 2 PC's (inconvenient), or 3) buy 2 licenses one for each PC (doubling upfront costs).
2 copies of Platinum for $150 is pretty darn good.

I'd get absolutely zero value out of it, but I already have a LOT of plugins. But at least you went in knowing what the deal was and made an informed decision. Hope you enjoy them.noiseboyuk wrote: Fri Aug 18, 2023 3:32 pmYup, I went for (3) which is far cheaper than (1).
